So heres the deal. Im muslim and Ramadan is coming up soon. This is our holly month where you fast from sun up to sun down. no food, water, cigertes, kissing, etc... This is usually never a problem for me, it is not hard to fast, but this year i have really been reading a lot on diet, and have cleaned up my diet big time, 6-8 meals a day, counted cals for blk and cutting, and am happy doing so cuz i have the knowledge behind it all, but with the fast it is going to throw a monkey wrentch into the picture.
While fasting we can't eat fromsun rise until sun set which is around 7:30 here in ohio. I was wondering, what would be the best way to avoid damage. I know my body will go into a stravation mode and slow my metablism, store more fats. But when i can eat, should i still stick to the 40/40/20 split, or would it be wiser to eat more carbs and les fats during my feeding time, haha. Just wondering about how to keep my body best fuel for the daytime when i won't be eating, i would like to minimize my body using my muscles for fuel. Also what would be a good cal intake, since tying to get in 2500 in only a few hours probably be counterproductive since my metablism will already be slow, should i beable to drop it to 1500 and be fine?
Any thoughts on this, I guess if anything i can just count it as one hell of a shocker for the body loool, but i have ben doing very good and am going o hate falling off track.
