    Pre and Post Hockey Nutrition

Hey guys. I play ice hockey every friday and every other saturday and I just wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions about what I should consume before and after playing. It's pretty intense cardio, moreso than you would get on a treadmill. I usually have dinner about 2 hours before playing and after I play, I usually just down a gatorade for some quick carbs and replenishment.

Carbs both a mixture of complex and simple before. Protein, and simple carbs after. Then eat a meal rich in carbs. This is a typical athletic protocol as far as diet. It varies from that of a pure bodybuilding diet.
