In my current routine, I eat meal 1 at 4:30am and am in the gym for my weight workout at 5:30am. By 6:45am I am doing cardio for 30 mins. By the time I change, etc. and am out of the gym and in my truck eating my PWO meal, it is already 7:30am.
My concern is this - everybody talks about the 'magical window' for PWO nutrition, and the body being completely anabolic during that small period. Obviously one should consume their PWO meal immediately (or as close to) following their weight training session as possible.
In my case, i'm losing 45 mins due to cardio and getting ready for work. It seems logical that my 'window' will have already passed by the time I get to eat. And in reality, the meal is coming 2 hours after my first exercise.
Unfortunately i'm not in a position to do cardio at another time of day. I obviously don't want to do cardio PRE workout because I don't want to use all my energy on cardio and be weakened for the weight training session.
The question is - am I ok? I have to imagine alot of people weight train and then do their cardio right after, so this can't be uncommon. Am I jipping myself when it comes to PWO nutrition?
