Chest pains when doing Bench Dips?

    Anyone experienced this?

It doesnt feel like its a problem with the muscle moreso like my chest bones hurt.

Kinda hurts to take a deep breath now.

    Any help is appreciated.

I actually got a feeling just like that in the center of my chest when I first started doing dips, but it went away after a week or two of doing them. I don't think it's something to worry about.

Ive been doing dips for a while now. They are great for the tricepts.

I usually do them with at 45lb plate in my lap. do you think thats the cause?

i find that normal dips work better. lower rep, higher intensity.

LOL, wasn't going to post, but since you summoned me, Im here.

OP, is this what your doing for bench dips?

    http://www.shapefit.com/triceps-exer...ench-dips.html

Usually, these are less chest and more tris. Don't know how they would hurt your chest. Maybe you're going deep and stretching which is fine. If this is not the exercise then elaborate.

BTW, if you look like the chick doing these, I'll be happy to stop by and give you some personal training.

That is the exercise Im speaking of but I usually use two benches the 2nd to prop my feet up on so that I can get a deeper Dip. I think it may be just stretching my chest b/c Ive found that if I try and poke my chest out while doing the dips it doesnt cause as much discomfort.
