testosterone and C reactive protein subject(heart disease)

    hey guys,

does supraphysiological doses of testosterone raise OR lower C reactive protein, keep in mind that i am asking about TEST not all AAS. I know that there are studies that show high c reactive protein in anabolic steroid users, but they did not specify what are the steroids being used etc... i have seen only one study about it.

I am asking this because it has serious implications in heart attacks, keep in mind that new studies conclude that high inflammation is what makes those plaques rupture, and some of the fatal heart attacks happen in people who dont have a lot of closing in their arteries, and almost half of them dont have high cholesterol or LDL etc.....

C reactive protein is the primary marker of arterial inflammation. What is confusing me is that testosterone is actually shown in studies to LOWER inflammation markers. Then, you have studies showing that anabolic steroid users have more C reactive protein, how is that ?? can someone clarify on this subject.

I need you guys especially the vets to shed some light on the subject, to my surprise i did not find a significant amount of threads about this problem of heart disease related to steroid use.

Anyone's opinion is welcomed and your contribution to this topic will be appreciated for the good of all members.

C-reactive proteins are just a marker it does not in of itself mean that one will have heart disease. The body can be under general inflammatory states from many things. The typical American diet shifts the Arachidonic acid pathways towards inflammation because of the high amounts of omega-6 and omega-9 Fatty acids we consume in our diets. Not to mention other foods in our diet that cause GI distress and so on. If you look at the traditional bodybuilding diet, it is high in calories and high in protein. Most of which is from animal proteins. Which as it turns out is from red meat in America.

hey thanks bro for the explanation

so the big question for me is, do steroids really cause heart disease or not ? what is their significance in regards to CAD and heart attacks ? do they protect or do they harm, or are they neutral ?

    bump for more input.

    Look to homocysteine more..

" lowers markers for inflammation " .. Cytokines and cortisol.. But has the inflammation been lowered? Or just the need for cortisol is less as t is doing more repairs?

It has 1 billion % to do with what you shovel in your face.. Post your diet. I'm sure we can find Alot of things of more concern then testosterone. Consume a whole foods natural anti inflammatory diet and you can't go wrong..

Sorry post isn't as in depth I'm on an iPhone.
