Just bragging... 130lbs dumbell presses for chest and 275 BB military behind neck!!

I use dumbells every now and then but mostly barbell. Now today, i decided to push myself and see what I could do. I did flat dumbell presses for my 2nd exercise so I was already slightly fatiged. Got to 4th set with 130 pounders and STILL did 10 reps! So yeah, im kinda happy. My gym goes up to 150lbs dumbells so next week im gonna start with 120s and go to 150s on 4th set I think.

Also few days ago I decided to try barbell military presses behind the neck. Ive only ever done in front. ( I can do 300lbs for reps) I was surprized to get to 275lbs behind the neck for 5 reps on 4th set!

Next month I plan to try 315lbs barbell military for 3 reps video tapped.

Nice lifts... our local gyms suck. Only one of the World Health Chain outlets goes up to 130lbs so I have to go there for chest day. 2 and a quarter is pretty impressive behind the head man

ok smart ass... obviously you dont lift a full plate per side of anything or you would realize that 2 and a quarter (2 plates and a 25 per side) = 275lbs

Thanks guys. If I would have known how good I was gonna do I would have started heavier on the DB presses and ended with 150s. Next week I will though.

that's heavy. I can lift 130 i'm sure, but not rep it for shit. And my shoulders would fall off for sure. Great job bro... God damn I can't wait to run some gear.

Nice numbers, but I'd never do any presses or pulls behind the neck.

thats good shit right there bro. by the look of your avy you look great.
I am only 5'5 and for dumbel press I can only do 80lbs on each side, for flat bench press barbell i can put 315lbs for 5 times. so ya for my height and my weight I am happy with what I can put up...

Impressive VetteWreck, That is some pretty good lifts. 150s should be no problem for you at all, keep us posted.

    On a side note:
My gym only goes up to 100lbs. I decided to do my main set one day with the dumbells instead of barbell bench to help nurse along a pec injury I had. At about 20 reps on those hundreds I said the hell with it and went back to barbell, my A.D.D kicks in and its all over after about ten reps...LOL

Ive always read that as long as you dont go too much below parallel (1" is ok) then the weight wont transfer off the muscles and onto the rotator cuffs. So far, ive had no issues and it feels fine. I just dont go too low. I go down about the ears.

That is quite the impressive shoulder press. I personally love that exercise.
