AC ligament tear (seperated shoulder) question 8 wks out

I tried to research this but didnt find anything specifically relating to what i want to know. Thanks in advance people here know so much information it amazes me

Ok so about 8 wks ago I tore (grade 2 or grade 1) my AC ligament doing weighted dips with a 100 lb dumbell at the end of a chest work out. Been to the doc twice. The first time for initial diagnosis and second time because it was still hurting after 6 wks and it was supposed to be fine by then. I am worried about my doctors credibility (i am in law school so and while the doc i went to supposedly practices sports medicine it didnt seem like he knew what he was talking about.

When i work out chest on flat bench or do wide pull ups my shoulder gets a werid sensation. Its not really painful but my whole entire left arm starts to throbb and tingle. The doctor sad that i couldnt really cause further injury and gave me the go ahead to work out. Obviously i havnt been hitting the weights hard I did 225 on bench today for 8 reps... and while i didnt push out till failure lost tons of strength. Is it safe to work out and just put up with the throbbing or should i stop? My shoulder is a little sore the night post work out but it goes away for the most part the next day.

Listen, i had the same problem, but when i make certain movements it almost feels like something is moving a little in my shoulder. I have had cortisone shots three times, and am now doing prolo therapy shots into my shoulder now. Like you i have the most irritation during chest exercises. I have lost a ton of strength on bench due to this. When benching, my right shoulder hurts on the back side. Sleeping is sometimes uncomfortable too, my doctor recommended the Prolo therapy, as it is an irritant injected into the shoulder that causes the tendons to rebuild faster.

It has been at least 10 weeks post injury, and i still have pain, I also do MMA, and it has hurt me a lot there too.
