Do not run first unless being a good runner is more important than being a good lifter.
I like doing cardio right after lifting because your body will already be in the fat burning zone. If you start with cardio the. You have to do 20 minutes or so before you hit the zone
You deplete systemic muscle glycogen if you engage in long term or intense cardiovascular training. It depends on your goals, and if you will actually do cardio after weights. I sometimes do cardio first if I know I won't do it after. It's more important to get it in that timing if you know you will have trouble after weights.

Thx guys, ya after lifting im just so beat i either go home or use the elliptical. I just wanna burn and lose fat
On leg day i do cardio for 5-10 minutes to warm those bitchez up

That depends. If you have joint issues, an elliptical is going to be your best bet because it is low impact. If you are healthy and have the ability, running on the dirt, swimming, hitting the heavy bag, jumping rope, etc. are almost all better options than the elliptical. Treadmills and ellipticals are convenient because they are in the gym and you don't really have to move anywhere while using them, but you'll not get the most out of your time using them either. Treadmills are pretty bad on your body in the long run because they don't make you move like your body is supposed to move in locomotion. Your feet don't land correctly and that transfers into your joints. You'll probably not notice it unless you run on a treadmill regularly or already have joint issues. The elliptical is, as I said, better on the joints since it reduces impact on the joints, but the machine itself can provide some degree of mechanical advantage, so you're not utilizing your body in quite the same way as if you were really moving.
My ultimate advice is to look at your long term goal and structure things accordingly.
If you want a little burst of cardio to warm up, the elliptical works but you will probably have more fun and get more out of going for a short jog, jumping rope, hitting the heavy bag, etc., for a few minutes.
If you are wanting to lose some weight and tone up, alternating a full body workout day with a cardio day is a great system for doing so. Do a full body lifting day, keep rest breaks short, and keep moving. Next day, go for a swim. Ride a bicycle around town. Go for a jog or hike a trail. Get out of the gym and you'll find that cardio doesn't have to be a chore.
If you are wanting to lose some body fat while bulking up on lean, then follow the other advice I'm sure you will get here. Keep cardio short, be smart about your warmups, and focus on the lifting and the diet and you'll get the results you are looking for.
In all of these suggestions, no matter what your goal, the cardio is far less important and will have less an impact than the diet you keep.

You want to lift weights first, then do cardio when you're glycogen stores are delete and you can tap into your fat stores faster

i can only speak from personal experience but i personally like doing 5 minutes of high int. cardio before my lift session. and then a more more thorough increase afterwards. i will say that on a pretty extreme caloric deficit i did not feel that the cardio beforehand felt so beneficial. everyones body is slightly different but the quick cardio beforehand got me prepped for my sessions.
I do some stretching and then some sit-ups on ball and planks and I am plenty warmed up to lift. On leg day, cardio is a minimum. Other days, 20 minutes. Incline treadmill or stairmaster.Originally Posted by mikeratliff
