Do it when you know you will mostly likely get it in. The most important thing is that you get it in.Originally Posted by kenny3478
I do mine In between sets actually. I will do a four minute tabata style hiit between working sets. So depending on my workout that day I usually will get in 28-32 minutes of hiit total. Except on leg days, that shits to hard with legs...lol

Nice one cheers so it doesn't matter if I do it right after my lifting especially if you can do it during you lifting.
Will just stick to doing it after just so I don't feel rushed during lifting.
Shouldn't matter to much, you are releasing a ton of GH by doing it. The one caveat is if your powerlifting trying to put on mass. Doing it before or during will strip your muscles of glycogen content and will limit potentially how hard you can lift. I have a hard time now not going above my desired body weight now. So I don't care if I'm not putting on lbs any more. I just want to stay super fit and lean.Originally Posted by kenny3478
Complete opposite when I was in my 20's. I would stay super lean but couldn't gain s pound of muscle lol

I do mine after my workout. Might as well get everything done and out of the way. But in general you should do whatever "feels" best for you.
Im going to stick with straight after my lifting I do every other day 20min Hiit cardio and the days I between I do my Abbs cos I never train Abbs just starting now as my stomach has gone right down dose this sound ok ?
I'm doing it to lose body fat I have lost a shit load of weight now 6inches off my belly and lost 20lb in total over 14weeks I'm still a long way off 15%BF I'm down to 20.7% from about 25% so it's working just taking a little longer than expected I'm impatient when it come to losing weight and body fat.
Cheers for all the Info guys will stick with this for the next 7 weeks with my diet see how that goes.
Lifting first
Hiit Cardio after.
I read a study awhile back that said doing 20minutes of cardio after weight lifting will keep the arteries elastic, keeps them from harding is what the gist of the article said.
I used to do sprints first thing in the morning fasted. Not on leg days though
i'm not really capable of doing hit cardio after hit lifting. if anything i do slow and steady cardio. if you can take a break between the two to recover a bit, you should develop more rapidly.
in any event, i agree with all who say lift first, while your energy level is at it's best.
HIIT and HIT is recommended only for certain athletes because it cause free radical damage and promotes aging of the body. You can read more about which type of cardio and how much is best in my book, "Functional Training with a Fork". I do mine rite when I get to the gym after stretching and foam rolling to keep blood flow up and reduce injury has been working for me
