At my age I get the 'sir' treatment in the gym quite often, but I have one even better. I get on the subway, 6 feet tall, 230 lbs, reasonably well muscled, and a young lady of 17 or 18 years offers me her seat. Felt old all of a sudden.

I'm still a bro at this point. Which I kinda hate hearing all the time.

When I grow old, I'd like to be as "reasonably well muscled" as you. I'm 57, better start cycling NOW.

Same goes in how one calls to others, most men, regardless of their age, dont like being called "kid", "son", "boy", however - where I can see stubborn intellectual/psychological behavior patterns I just let it slide as I feel more sorry for the guy saying it than me for hearing it being said, and even if it was meant as an insult I learned over past years and years not to take it for granted because someones opinion is just theirs for themselves and it would only reflect their fragile personality.

I think being more humble sometimes can save one from hearing being called "sir".

all in all, one called sir most of the times is purely out of respect, but I know that you know all this already, and I dont even know why am I saying it here at all just sharing thoughts

I personally call everyone sir. Not really an age thing. More of a respect thing.

Silabolin, IM - I've got students that look older than you - why are you posting in a 40's thread?

I got lost on this world wide web, maybe that's why? more so I dont discriminate people for their age, I rate people by their knowledge and achievements, age doesnt mean a thing to me

    Ouch!

You know which term I really do like and I don't know if this is slang for sir - but I get this one a LOT - "boss". Nothing to do with work at all, but in public & with strangers, guys, around my age or younger than me.

See, you're in for the good ride, AAS works, and when you'll introduce HGH on a daily routine, soon dudes at the gym will start calling you "hey kid!"

I get carded but wife doesn't. She laughs at me and says I'm old. I said as long as they are still carding you, I'm doing just fine.

Carded? Did you say carded? OMG, I actually don't remember when that happened last - jealous though!

Driving back from the farmer's market with my wife, windows open - at a stop light and a couple of skater dudes go "really like your car sir". The car really likes its props, I'll accept a sir for that one - wife was laughing her butt off.
