    Newest addition to my family!!

    My girlfriend has wanted an English bulldog for as long as I can remember. We bought our first house a little over a year ago and I figured we were ready for this and she deserves this.
    So I did some research to find a good breeder and I found one all the way down in Long Island. We waited for them to be born, stayed in contact with the breeder and they were finally ready to go. We went down last weekend and picked one out and went back down yesterday and brought her home.
    I told her if she picked a boy we had to name him Marcus (she knows about him and the forum) lol but she ended up picking a girl, who happened to be the runt of the litter. Which made me a little nervous but she's very sweet and has been wonderful so far.
    Anyways, here she is, almost 9 weeks old-

    I have 5. Not all English bulldogs, but 5 in total. They're like children. Couldn't imagine not having them around!! Looks like y'all have made a great choice!!

    pretty awesome man, my German Sheppard died 5 years or so ago and ive been thinking about a new pup myself and I have to say I love bulldogs they are ridiculously cute bro, congrats....

    That's great man!!me and my girl are trying to pick out a breed right now..I've owned a lot of dogs Iam trying to steer clear of pits which I've had in the past..was thinking German Shepard but I've heard they have a lot of hip problems..English bulldog has been a breed we have been thinking of..

    I have a rotti , my 2nd female . They are the most loyal breed . Super smart ,about 7 or 8 smartest out of top 100 akc breeds . She is 5 now and she can learn any trick , object or person by name . Opens closes doors you name it . I taught her to open the fridge on comman in about 15 ( now I need child locks on it because she eats everything out of it if it's unlocked ) wasn't the best of ideas with a dog that's as smart as you lol . What are you looking for in breed characteristics ?

    Intellengence,security,good with kids and I don't wanna watch my dog spend its last days going through misery because of bad hips,joints,etc that's like watching my best friend die..that's what turned me off to German Shepard s someone told me they have rough last years from hip problems..

    Thanks everyone! It's definitely a lot of work trying to take care of her but I'm sure it will be very rewarding. My training is going to suffer quite a bit I'm sure. How do you guys manage to find time to work, take care of a house, pets, and train/meal prep???? I couldn't imagine adding kids into the mix!

    that is exactly what happened to my boy after 13 yrs of life and 2 knee replacement surgeries after the hips went we slowly watched our boy suffer because we didn't have the hart to put him down sooner...he never complained though he was a good dog and we where being selfish...it wasn't till my father in law bitched me out for not putting him down already that we finally did it...

    Its a hard decision to make. Often question afterwords if it was the right decision.

    No dog deserves to die in pain. I like that we are very HUMANe to animals.

    German shepherds are known for it but i had a big boy and girl who didnt suffer as much on the leg/hip side.
