Me and a friend were talking about this at work today. He neighbor got bit by one of these lonestar ticks and is now allergic to red meat. How horrible would this be?

fuck what's worse, Lyme disease or an allergy to my favorite food...due to my mountain biking I am constantly removing ticks from my body but I'm very diligent about checking myself when I take a break during and after the ride so I usually don't have to pull them out of me just off me...they are evil...

The craziest thing about Lyme disease is that there is a vaccine for it that is no longer manufactured because people got on the antivaxx train.

I just got back from a ride and only pulled one tick off of me today that's pretty good seeing that this is deer and moose country...the secret...stay on my bike and keep moving...that works for mosquitos and black flies as well...they where terrible today that's why I only went for an hour I was running out of blood...

Lyme disease is one of the most terrible thing you can get as far as your physique goes. Was a big 400lb guy that got lyme disease and was barely over a hundred pounds in a few months. It takes years to recover. No thank you, just shoot me instead.

Had one there myself years back. Then just a couple years ago had one on my hip with a resulting visible rash. Treated me with antibiotics and all is well.

Here are some useful facts about how to deal with the evil bastards:
1. Peppermint oil or Vaseline will cause a tick to back out of the skin. DO NOT DO THIS! The evil bastard will vomit into you before pulling out increasing the odds of bad shit happening to you.
2. ALWAYS pull a tick out by its stupid tick head. They make special tweezers for this purpose. If you encounter a lot of ticks get them!
3. If you find a tick on your skin, tape it to a notecard. Write the date and location where you found the stupid fuker. If you notice anything out of the ordinary (swelling, big ring around the area, fever, etc.) Bring your special notecard to the doctor and show them the stupid fuker you found trying to destroy your life.

Yes in a few months the man went from morbidly obese to deaths door skinny couldnt walk. I mean a few as in four months and weights are guesses. I wasnt standing with the guy while he was on a scale. One year afyer the guy was still using a walker
