Am just venturing out here quickly as am wondering how bad really is "normal" red meat but the kind of meat that taste amazing alongside some Turkey ? So 100Gr red meat and 100Gr Turkey cooked and served together in one plate as a meal ?? ... And this every day of the week twice a day on a cal deficit .. Cheers

when your in a calorie deficit eating lean cuts of red meat is a huge benefit.. reason why is when your in a deficit of calories your more then likely not getting in all the micro nutrients, vitamins, minerals you need. and of all the meats, red meats are the most micro nutrient dense

The carnivor diet is big right now. When I switched to Keto i basically only ate red meat and pork as my main source of macros. Later on i discovered eating leafy greens made me bloat real bad which I didn’t know until i stumbled onto it by accident. I really love salads too. I still eat them but my bloat is noticeably different when I eat just meat and nuts. (Shut up Kel)

Red meat is good. Typically has higher fat content (therefore more calories per serving) so it is harder to work into a cut. But if I had the calories to spare, I would choose red meat over poultry any day.

I notice no one seems to give a shit about nitrogen...
I would think that would be of great importance on AAS but I suppose we only store more and have waste nitrogen just about gegardless of what we eat?

Our bodies are actually very efficient at recycling amino acids (nitrogen) the figures we use in the research lab were around 78%. There were some great studies done in the 80’s and 90’s that build on nutritional research from the 40’s about how little protein intake a healthy adult needed to maintain and stay healthy. The newer works included daily protein values for weight lifters. It was shocking how low your protein intake actually needed to be to maintain. I don’t recall the exact numbers anymore and haven’t looked at that bit of the research since grad school. But I’m sure newer information is out there especially with the popularity of all these high protein diets emerging again.

One of the best guys on diet now is Layne Norton PHd. I met him many many years ago at a conference. He had set the world record in the natural, raw squat at one time for his age and weight. That’s the only way I remembered who he was because someone was asking him what he was squatting nowadays. When he said His raw squat was well over 600lbs and natural, I didn’t forget that.

Anyway, check him out. He and Andy Gaplain are to very good young scientist that dont fall for the bro science or confirmation bias in their professional lives.

OP What cut of meat are you talking about? If by no lean you mean ground meat like 80/20 (20% fat) that is definitely not ideal on a daily basis if your goal is a caloric deficit. To me lean meats are usually 10% fat or less.

Personally, I eat 96% fat free beef whether cutting or whatever I'm doing. 18g fat in 1 pound cant beat that! 92% has like 36g so a huge difference even though 92% sounds very lean...

I try not to eat more than 2-3 lbs per week though... some weeks even less. Boneless chicken breast is my best friend
