kimbo vs houston
Iam really torn on this pick ,I think it is going to be who ever lands the first punch and if it goes all 3 rounds houston is going to have a big avantage ,cause cutting that much weight for a guy like kimbo who never cut weigh before in his life is going to be tuff ,either way I still am excited to see the fight ,and I hope kimbo winns he is exciting to watch cause he is allways is goiong to be the underdog cause he is basiclly a regular guy trying to make a run at it .

Going into tha season I really didn't like Kimbo. But he really seems like a good dude. I honestly believe that Kimbo will win by knockout in the second round. Alexander might try to make it more technical but i think it ends up being a brawl anyway

This fight is at 205? DAMN!!! Kimbo is pretty lean at 235. I can't see him dropping 30lbs and being effective. At 205 I see Houston winning by ref stoppage (kimbo gasses and gets pummeled). At heavyweight, I have Kimbo by knockout.

I think it's really hard to call this fight.
I'd like Kimbo to win, because he has some what of a chance at a MMA career with the right trainers. Houston has had his shot, and lost it already.
I think it makes for an exciting fight though.
But I think Houston's striking might be a little more dynamic than Kimbo's is. I believe Houston has faster hands also, which will probably come into play.
I'm not sure who has more power, but honestly I think that is irrelevant because they are both strong enough to knock each other out at any time.
I also suspect Kimbo's chin a little.
Good for Dana not throwing him any can's, they took the biggest blackest street fighter on the planet and threw him Houston Alexander.

I will just be glad when this is all over and we don't have to hear Kimbo say "I came here to bang", as he dramatically holds up both of his fists and looks at both of them.

Well he gets someone who also wants to Bang lol.

This is a big fight for Kimbo. He needs this win to launch his UFC career. I can see Kimbo with a take down to surprise Alexander since his ground skills are lacking as well.

Huston just ruined any shot he had in MMA.
His only marketable as a brawler, not a leg kicker. He just made for a borning fight, and he lost too. I think? About to find out.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has not seen it. but I was super impressed with Kimbo's take downs and power as a wrestler. He really out powered Alexander in those clinches.

Maybe some more experinced and more trained guys can help on this one.
But the obvious counter to a leg kick is generally a strait right.
But the obvious weakness to a strong striker/boxer is to keep those feet planted to generate punching power.
I'm assuming who ever is better at there game wins. But Seems like it's so easy to check those leg kicks, a simple lift of your lead foot....
Seems like no one takes them seriously until it's too late? I don't get it.
Lift your lead foot, or drop in with a strait right?

I knew the TD's were going to come out in that fight! I'm really starting to become a Kimbo fan because of the effort he puts in.

I thought so too, the only guy that would probably be willing to go in simply just to put a show on would be Wandy. Kimbo was ready to just slug it out, but a lot of guys don't fight like that, and also worry about the w/l record.
Kimbo has won me over though. I don't think he's some great MMA fighter, but he's a humble guy and for his age, applies an incredible amount of heart in such a physically demanding sport. The guys a strait up warrior, whether it's in a back yard or a cage, he has lots of heart and desire to win.
It's unforchanate that despite him being or appearing to be in phenominal shape, the years of wear on his body will probably not allow him to develop into a factor in the MMA world. He's been rougher on his body than Randy has.
Honestly, I hope the guy is on about 10 IUs of HGH every day to slow the years down.

I think the cutting weight hurt him alot... I mean he street fought at 250-260.. started MMA at 235-240.. so down to 215 even if just for a weigh in.. I think it took a toll on his wind.
not that i think he could run ten miles, but i do think a HW cutting weight that never has before for a fight does hurt him alittle. but you have to give it to him.. he was trying, houston seemed to not want to engage him at all

wanted him to finish houston, but i think he is just too slow and plodding. immense upper body strength and power, but he can't move quickly at all. very heavy on his skinny legs and clearly his beat up knee is getting to him.

Slice has shown great improvement on his ground game thanks to American Top Team in a very short amount of time, he showed some great things in the second round!! Get him some time under his belt down there and he will continue to grow rapidly!!!

and is it just me or did it look like Houston just didnt want to trade with Kimbo. His team had a shitty gameplan or Dana told him to throw the fight lol.

What happened to Houston? I remeber watching his earlier fights (jardine) and the guy was a BEAST! Seriously.. what happened to him?
-

he is a one minded fighter F4i. Just being a striker hurt him when it comes to better strikers or wrestlers/grapplers. I think he is finished in my opinion.

I think it was a fake fight.
Houston is a beast and the only reason Kimbo won is so Dana can make his money.

No work just two sub par fighters. Houston does not have great striking he just tends to be aggressive which can catch people off guard.........Jardine and Sakara.
