The my fitness pal app has me eating 1700 cals a day to lose 2 pounds a week but if i burn 300 cal in the gym it says i can eat that back and still lose weight

Stick at 1700 with a macro split of 50/30/20 (p/c/f). Maybe consider dropping 30% of your carbs on non workout days.Quote:

You're correct in thinking that by eating only 1700 calories, and then burning 500 at the gym, you've effectively only eaten 1200 calories.Quote:

Moderate activity is taken into account in the 1700cals. Don't eat what you burn in the gym else you'll get nowhere.
