From what Ive been reading coconut oil although saturated, the fats are medium chain triglycerides which the body digests and uses up better than long chain triglycerides. From what "experts" say its better because although coconut oil raises LDL it also improves HDL. So here is my question: If both LDL and HDL are raised the end result (as I see it) is basically the same as they balance each other out. So is there any reason why I should switch to this type of oil, which not to mention is ridiculously high in calories?
