Question Calipers says 10%-11% - What do you guys say?

    Hi guys,

Having an awful time getting the body fat narrowed down. My calipers reading says 10%-11% and there is no Bodpod around where I live in Germany so I am trying to do my best with what I got. Would you guys agree with my calipers reading? See attached pictures.

    Thanks

Yes. Not even close to 10-11%. I would agree somewhere closer to 18-20% but it's hard to tell if you're sucking it in.

Yea Im afriad I agree with the above estimates of 18-20% buddy. Although you arent large, you're carrying a lot of fat, especially around the belly and love handles.

Dont take this as a negative response though, its constructive. Now you can hone your diet better, the discovery means you're lower LBM than you estimated, meaining you can further reduce your calorific intake.

Its not my goal to come in and be a dick to people. You posted pics so I assume you wanted some sort of feedback right? It's my opinion just by your pics, that there isn't much a cycle is going to do for you other then temporarily make you look better. I just don't see you being able to keep much without a much more mature muscle base. of course there is the possibility that you've got that muscle, but you've been dieting hard and are really flat. again not trying to be a dick.

Hey man. Good to see a guy who will handle the hard but constructive criticism. A smart man will listen. I think I've heard you on here before man and you've been cool.
They gave the right assessment at about 20%.
Work hard on the diet and training and keep it up. No need for a cycle yet. The water would drive you crazy Good luck and stay cool. ...crazy mike

Don't worry bro im in the same damn boat you are. Mine is just belly fat that wont go away. I think BF is different for everybody, just because you are 20 % doesn't mean that you don't have muscle. I really don't think you are that high but its just wishful thinking on my part.

Weird thing is im close to your BF right now and only weigh 205. People cant believe I weigh 205 walking around with 16-18 % BF in my Gym. I have guys same BF/ weight as me and 6 inches shorter and I am a lot bigger than them.

Main thing is just don't give up on yourself.

Got values measured. Reality check - how to take bad pictures - Blogs - Anabolic Steroids - Steroid.com Forums

15% is the conclusion of both places and I attribute some feedback here to my photographing skills (and so does my wife apparently:-))

Guys, the feedback is much appreciated, more than you know, and I get encouraged by these forums everyday to keep going but I have to go by what two different locations are telling me that my body fat is, which is 15%, or I can not calculate efficient macros. I detailed all this in the blog post below. If someone think I should go by the average I have here instead of what the guys who measured me locally found say so and I will, seriously consider it.

    Thanks

Sorry to say it Tarmy but I still think youre above 15% - If I were you, er on the side of caution and use the higher BF% to calculate it. Its hard because you're carrying fat in an odd looking proportion. Have you suffered from puberty related gyno? Your nipples look a little puffy, which could be whats throwing off the BF% estimates.

Keep it up though buddy, keep taking pictures and recording it.

Thanks krugerr. You know, as soon as the gyno was mentioned I was thrown back into my 15 year old body and realizing I had some itching feelings growing up which is exactly what might have been going on because no matter how hard I work the pecs are always a bit puffy.

I think I will take your advice here and go for an 17% estimate as that is a bit higher than what they measured locally and lower than the estimates here.

I do have a solid base of muscle I have built for about 4 years so I guess I am a bit afraid to go to low as it might compromise what I have gained thus far. It's NOT easy for me to gain muscle. Maybe consider a clen /var combo or clean/test-e combo to make sure I keep what I have? Need to think about that one!

    Thanks

You've got your head screwed on, and you take well to constructive feedback. These are good traits! I would suggest first, seeing a doctor regarding possible gyno, see what he says. You don't want to cycle and potentially end up with large breasts
Secondly, would this be your first cycle? I'd have to look back over your stats, but I don't see a major reason why you couldn't cycle, although I and many others would suggest you keep focused on your diet for another month or so, drop a bit more fat first. I personally think that you've got potential to add some more mass without any gear for now

Thanks, I'll hold of any type of cycle (Except Clenbuterol , it's just too good ;-)). I'll see a doctor this week also but must admit I am not sure exactly how to ask this or how it is diagnosed. I am also currently in Germany (and my German is limited to Ein bier bitte) so I'll have to research it some. Thanks as always, your feedback is always top notch IMHO.

    Thanks

Sorry if i'm out of the loop on prior posts.. what diet routine are you using??

here's what the calipers are messing with you about..

example... my legs are 3-5%bf... same for the back
the chest will be 12-14% depending on who's doing the pinching..

and you are probably not separating the fat from the muscle on the stomach/sides, you are just lifting the skin.. trust me, done correctly you should almost be bruised from the pinch doing a caliper technique..

Where is that picture that always gets posted on BF threads? I was looking for it to show someone the other day... Even one of those hand-held BF units will get you close if you use it correctly.

20% Many people seem to think their bf is much lower than it really is.
