    Before and after pics

My goal, for my first phase, was to drop to 245 and retain as much muscle as possible in 3 months. I was 284 when I started, and now 240. I don't think I lost very much muscle. I am starting to get concerned with getting loose skin, so I'm slowing down my fat loss. I will alternate between clean bulking and cutting over the next 4-6 months, hopefully loosing fat at a rate I don't get loose skin. Click image for larger version.

Thanks man. The first picture is actually one month in, I didn't think about taking a pic when I started. So there's only two months between the two pics. However, I still weighed the same as I did when I started in the first pic, but I had lost a couple inches in my waist

Right on. I was mostly just joking. Some guys get some HUGE tone with small wires (Rev G). I run 9s on my LP, cuz it's more of a singing instrument, but switched to 11s on my strats in 2001 after bud turned me on to how low you can get the action with them. That's great you play a Tele, some amazing players use those.

If your not doing absurd amounts of cardio on a seriously restricted diet, you won't lose much muscle.

    Define absurd amount.
Going to work at 215 and coming home at 200 more than one day in a week cause me muscle loss as well as fat.
One bad week at work is something I will spend 14 days on cycle recovering from strengthwise.
Other than that, running a few miles ain't gonna cause any muscles loss if my diet is right.

I'm planning around 30 mins a day, 4-5 days a week. I pretty much haven't been doing any. I will keep my protein high, and figure out where my ft and carbs need to be. I'm thinking 50/30/20-p/c/f

Well hell, hurt my back couple weeks ago (not at gym), turns out it's a herniated disk. It's a little better, but heavy cardio is out, and heavy lifting too. I have managed to somewhat stay on diet, and started back lifting light last week. Guess I'll take it week by week, but definitely think my goal of reaching 18% or less bf by spring is still reachable, while maintaining muscle. I was around 35% in January, and around 22% now

Sorry to hear that man. Go to a good chiropractor or accupuncturist and go there once a week.
I know a big guy in directional boring that attributes accupuncture to curing his back after 20 chiropractors couldn't.

A lot of DC’s practice acupuncture as well. One of my docs at the clinic did, I had him work on my knee from time to time.

This was last week. Only got a little over a week of cardio in before I hurt my back. Really sucks, I was making some good progress. Gonna keep hitting the weights, doing what I can without putting stress on my back. Squats, dead lifts, heavy shrugs, definitely out the question

Thanks man. Down to 238 now, probably a little muscle loss since my workouts are limited due to the bad back.

Another updated pic. Been staying around 240 for last couple months, didn't wanna get loose skin. I think I've trimmed up a little more anyway. This is me now, and the same pic I posted when I started
