    Powell endorses Obama

    http://wireless.go.com/wireless/abcn...tics/6065816_8

But I guess according to some members of this forum, Powell is a racists idiot...and secretly a muslim sympathizer.

I respect that, Kratos. I just take issue with people accusing ALL blacks of voting for Obama simply because they share a racial commonality. The few black members of this forum have never gone to extesive lengths (like Deputy Dumb Dumb) to prove all whites who aren't voting for Obama are doing so because of his race. Both sides have acknowledged that there are members of each race who will vote/not vote because of race but the vast majority is voting/not voting primarily based on issues.

Welfare does not have to be all bad..

for example welfare when it comes to college essays and assignments..

I can buy an already done essay for $40.. helps me out..
than i call my version of it to someone else for $40..

    we all make out.

That's a big plus for Obama. Powell is a liberal and he is looking to add some equality to the supreme court justice.

Get a clue it was the democrats who, over and over again said there was nothing wrong with subprime morgages. Would you like to see them say this in their own words. Or do you actually believe (like so many other mis informed people) that all this is Bush's fault?

    Not all, just 95%.

I am interested/confused by the other 5% and I would like to know why they would support McCain. I am not so interested in the the other 95% opinions at this point.

I am not interested in the opinion of a white wealthy midwestern elderly evangelical either, unless they are supporting Obama. Then I would be interested/confused by that person and I would like to know why they would be supporting Obama.

What I'm saying is that for every $ that goes to welfare for poor people, there's $ that goes to corporate welfare. It makes no sense to rag only on the welfare that goes to poor folks and to ignore the welfare that goes to big corporations.

Weep and wail and gnash teeth in the outer darkness all you want about what Liberals say they're gonna do. Right now it's the Conservatives of the Bush Administration that are pushing for these mega-bucks going to mismanaged investment companies, banks, and insurance companies. And their overpaid Republican CEO's get paid big bucks to run theiir businesses into the ground, too.

Like it or not, we were all better off financially back in the good ol' days of the Clinton administration. And, BTW, they didn't enforce the anti-steroid laws with the ruthless zeal that these GD conservative Republican steroidphobes do . . .

I'd rather vote for Powell than Obama or McCain, not that I care who he endorses

I really don't care for either Obama or McCain, in these situations I usually choose the lesser evil but I'm not even sure if there is one this time around.

Guess I'll flip a coin or stay home.

If we wait around for the right one to come along, we would never go to the voting booth. They are politicans and they will say whatever you want to hear to have your vote. What they actually do is a gamble!

I love liberal logic. All dem = clinton (popular pres)
All republicans = Bush (unpopular pres)
And while were at it lets call Obama the spitting image of JFK

You're right, Joe Biden loves steroids and the people who use them.

Maybe if Clinton did something after al Qaeda bombed the World Trade Center in 1993, bombed two American embassies in East Africa in 1998, and nearly sank the USS Cole in Yemen in 2000 things could have been different. They're might not have been a 9/11, a patriot act, a war on terror, or a war in Iraq. Clearly we needed more military action from our comander and chief then lobing a few cruise missles into Afghanistan. But, then again he was to busy defending himself for slutting around the oval office. Clinton wasn't all that, but he was popular.

I'm not a fan of Joe Biden. But, the Dems (in general) are much less aggressive when it comes to enforcing drug laws than Republicans.

Much better, but it's certainly not just neoconservatives pushing this through. It's heavily pushed by both sides.

never heard him speak before... thought he was puppet... and would show up to the interview and puke up what he was told, you were hoping it was cause he is black hu? sorry, we all were made by God, we all pay taxes, we all have a choice to go to heaven or not - and we all are children of Christ - so color doesnt matter - black white green or gold

is that the direction you were thinking?

As a matter of fact, yes, that is where I was heading. The reason being is that is a negative stereotype many associate with black, that we can't speak articulately. And its out of the norm for one of us to do so and people are surprised when it happens.

Got to say he is one of my personal heroes in life, any chance I get to hear him speak I try to. I really feel he should have been president himself he would have been great.

I don't know if this would be offensive to say, but I do think blacks have a gift when it comes to oratory. The way Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Farrakhan, etc. speak is amazing. I mean, Farrakhan spouts complete nonsense, so on substance he gets a zero, but on delivery he gets an A+. I don't know, this is a stereotype but hopefully a positive one...like in our Islamic congregations, the black preachers are always the most inspiring in their oratory.
