I am very “odd” with my smoking. Usually I’ll smoke 2-3 a day, that’s it. . . Some times, like recently - it just grosses me out, it just tastes bad - so I stop

When I was running across the states non stop I’d smoke 2 packs in about a day & a half - considering the amount of stress, I guess

Quitting isn’t linear, most people I know have relapsed a few times before it stuck. I was smoke-free for two years, then got pulled back in during a rough patch. What helped me was not trying to go cold turkey but replacing the habit with something that didn’t make me feel like garbage. The patches worked for a bit, but I still missed the hand-to-mouth part. What actually kept me from lighting up again was having a vape on hand during stressful moments. I didn’t feel great about it at first, but it helped break the cycle without fully falling back. The one that helped me finally stop buying packs was a Vaporesso Xros 4. It felt clean, easy to use, and didn’t make me want a cigarette every time I got irritated. It's been a solid middle step.

The easiest way to quit smoking is to quit cold turkey. If you're using the nicotine gum, vaping or using patches you're not quitting anything. You've just transferred the nicotine addiction to some other form. I quit 20 over 20 years ago now and every single person I know who has actually stopped did it through cold turkey. Do not buy anything that has nicotine in it. Do not do things that simulate "the motions" of smoking. Cut it all out. If you absolutely need something for your mouth to be doing, buy some Cinnaburst gum or any gum that has some flavor to it. But only really do that for the first couple weeks while you're going through withdrawals.

Exactly! Give away any tobacco you have in house, vehicle, toolbox, lunchbox, etc. Go ahead and commit to not buying or bumming a smoke or any tobacco products from anywhere.

The cravings for tobacco were always the worst after:
Waking up, after a meal, after sex, and after alcohol....not necessarily in that order
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
