proscar is Finasteride
its perscribed for androgenic alopecia or male pattern hair loss-daily use for three months or more is necessary before benefit is observed. Continued use is recommended to sustain benefit. Withdrawal of treatment leads to reversal of effect within 12 months.

I use it now. It helps me keep my hair. But you really don't need it unless you're prone to MPB - as it could have some effects on libido and a few other issues...

It's actually used for the prostate...not hairloss. Propecia is for hairloss. They are the same ingredient...but proscar is 5mg and propecia is 1mg.

That is true but most BB's use it for the hairloss and cost effectiveness of the higher dose although some of us older farts can use the prostate help. But it doesn't replace an anti-e.
