bump
no,not normal.re-filter it before using
I have seen a tiny bit of settling if the bottle sits for a long peroid of time but not powdery. I would refilter and recook
how do i do that. i bought it from someone who made it themselves.
why re-cook?? you shouldnt cook it in the first place.filtering and ba is all that is nesacerry to steilizeOriginally Posted by J_Rod245
get a whatman filter and re-filterOriginally Posted by DCL
I couldnt disagree more. Filtering can not completely steralize. Just about everything I have read tells you to place in oven for 15 minutes at 250 then let stand for ten and repeat two more times.Originally Posted by DEVLDOG
im new to filtering fina. please explain thoroughly
Filtering gets rid of the particles . BA is what kills the germs and theres more than enough to kill all germs. No real need to heat it up.Originally Posted by J_Rod245
its your gear bro,if you want to heat it then have at it.thats old school and not nesacerry.Originally Posted by J_Rod245
You get a whatman from a research site. Also get a sterile vile. Suck up fina with syringe attach to whatman and put into sterile vile. easy as pieOriginally Posted by DCL
I just like to be safe. No such thing as too safe when you are brewing it yourself in an unsterile enviroment.
