The drug you are talking about is EPO. You can find out more info. if you do a search on-line. It drastically enhances the bloods ability to carry oxygen to the muscles. Therefore athletes such as cyclists, middle distance runners, rowers, flatwater canoe/kayakers do not hit the wall... there is very little lactic acid accumulation and they can keep going all out. I don't think there is any practical use for bodybuilders.
