    Replacing glycogen without dextrose?

I am working in Nigeria for 6 weeks and cant get hold of any dextrose fore my PWO shake

i brought some with me, but its almost run out

is there any other way i can replenish lost glycogen without dextrose?

i thought about using sugar but have been told that sucrose doe nothing to help

    how about fructose in fruit?

If you can get your hands on smarties or sweet tarts, they are both straight dextrose.

Barring that honey or other types of simple sugars (BUT NOT FRUCTOSE) would be good alternatives.

Honey. I used it for quite a while when I couldn't get dex and it worked great.

you just drink the honey out of a measuring spoon...i think a tablespoon worth is 17g sugar...so just use the amount that would be the equivalent in grams of sugar when using dex.

now that is interesting - who would've thought smarties could be a key part of a bodybuilders diet
