Noofielanders say aboot tooOriginally Posted by PrairieDawg

We don't say it that way. No one I have ever met says it that way.
Like Red said, we say in this manner: Ab-out ....
Look at the name Newfoundland. It's not New-found-land, but Newfoonland... even the ou in the name of the province is pronounced oo, so no wonder thay say the ou in about as oo. There are probably other words with ou in it which they pronounce it as oo. I've only hear somone say aboot once though.
Your spelling is apauling. lol sorryOriginally Posted by l6873
So messy, WHERE did you call in Canada?
You do realize this country does spread out a little... we're only 41 times larger than the UK after all...so saying "I called someone in Canada" without specifying where is just a tad vague... (sort of like my saying "I called someone somewhere in Europe, the middle east and northern Africa)
I would bet you probably called Newfoundland...

Listen Messy the Next time I was over in the UK I was gonna buy you a beer eh, but now im aboot to shove a beaver up yer ass! haha Seriously Messy Maybe you were talking to Newfie's because I have heard them say aboot but thats it!
That's why nobody can understand what the bastards ar saying lol. Every Canadian east of Alberta says ab-oot or overempasizes the 'ou' in certain words. Must be something in the water out there.
