i use humalog but was reading about another kind of slin which is quicker acting and wanted to see if anyone tried it yet. its novolog. humalog peakes in 75 minutes and novolog peakes in 52. i never used it but wanted to see if anyone here di or had any info on it.

I thought the only two you would consider were Humilin R for Rapid or Humalog. Humalog being the best choice. It says here novalog is rapid, don't know why we wouldn't have heard of it though http://www.novolog.com/

I think Humalog is much easier to get your hands on, thus making it a much more well known product

i live in pittsburgh and humalog can not be purchased otc like humilin-r so i order it online. the web site i get my humalog from also sells novolog and im considering ordering it next time since its a little faster acting

Humalog onset time is about 15 minutes, it peeks at about 2 hours and it's duration period is about 4 - 5 hours.

Novolog onset time is about the same as Humalog, it peeks at about 50 minutes and its duration period is also about the same as Humalog.

The above refers for Sub-Q. Onset and duration times are cut in about half when doing IM.

Novolog is a little stronger and faster acting than Humalog. IMO, they are about the same as the timing difference in the 2 Insulins is not great.
