ok heres my question

they say to use 10g sugar per i.u. of insulin

say you have 5i.u. of humilin-r and inject it

do you take the 50g of sugar all at once? or split it into 3 smaller amounts along with protein taking it at the time of the shot, 1 hr later and then 2.5 hrs later?

I am no expert but you would take it within a few minutes all at once. Protien can be taken about 1/2 hour after. Monitor your bg levels, get a meter. And it is a good idea to get some glucose tabs at the drug store if you start experiencing hypo symtoms.

Take all 50 grams of your dextrose (sugar) immediately after your slin injection. 15 minutes or so later take your protein isolate then your first lowfat meal an hour later.

1.25hrs later you will have sugar (carbs) anyway with some protein which would be a proper meal. 2.00hrs later, same thing.
