Hey, sorry to hijack, but I have a question for all of you from Norway, Sweden, Scandanavia etc. Any of you ever heard of a chewing tobacco product called SNUS (snuff). It's supposed to be a very safe form of chewing tobacco, not cause cancer etc.

Anyone?

yes but its not chewing tobacco it looks like it but you stick it under your lip you dont chew it

I work with lots of norweigans and swedes and almost all of them use it. The idea that it wont cause cancer is crap, its cheweing tobacco. Of course they'll tell you that it wont cause cancer. But almost of all the guys that use it have some of the nastiest looking teeth Ive ever seen. It gets put in the upper lip and you dont have to spit with it like normal dip. Ive tried it and its never done nothing for me, but everytime I go to Norway I see all the guys using it. I can tell you numerous stories about guys i work with passing out drunk with snus in their mouth too!!

the latest news about snuff (snus) that i´ve read said that it doesn´t cause cancer. It was some swedish research couple years ago. EU forbidded snuff, because it is so dangerous (but still not as dangerous as cigarettes). So, i think, that this research wasn´t totally objective. Well, at least the text in my snuffpackages was "orsakar cancer, socialstyrelsen (causes cancer)", but nowdays there´s just "denna tobaksvara kan skada din hälsa och är beroendeframkallande (~this product may risk your health and causes depedency)."

I´m from Sweden. West coast.

I just kicked my habit of using snus (those nicotine patches were great). Tastes great, but looks terrible.

yepp jepp from Sweden, I only use SNUS when i do my dieting Walks, increases your metabolic rate with about 200-300 kcal a day. There are actually all sorts of flavour like vanilla, coffe ,liqurice and many other absurd flavours

I am an American, but I have to snus is good stuff. When I studied in europe for a year, its was agood replacement for copenhagen, but its alot finer and sweeter. The funny thing is the person who introduced me to it was a chick from finland...lol. I was like I thought the only women who chewy tobacco were kentucky.
