    Morning After Pill

Has anyone had any experience with it? I was having sex with my GF, and the condom broke. So just incase I had her use the morning after pill called "plan b." Has anyone used that type of pill before?

    Hopefully it works.

abortions are pretty cheap anyways, and chances are she's not pregnant. It's just like getting in a small fender bender, $400 and it's fixed.

If works, get her to take it asap if you don't want a child. It is like a massive birth control dose and will force the egg loose. Much less invasive then an abortion and much earlier. You will never know if the egg was actually fertilized or not.

I had a careless mistake with a girlfriend once. We both did not want children, she saw the doctor the next day, and we made sure nothing like that ever happened again.

I hope you are joking, or you will get a surprise soon.

Hope you like being a daddy, or don't care about writing checks for 18 years.

Cool, but once it broke, it's too late, only way he is gonna know she is not pregnant near 100% is for her to take the morning after steps.

I still know some ignorant idiots who think not wearing a condom and pulling out works.

One friend swore his girl had a condition where she could not get pregnant. She swore to it as well....Now it's 2 kids later and he already had 1 from a prior relationship.....can you say digging your own grave?

When I pulled the condom off, I realized that there was a small tear on it. Better safe then sorry, imo. So I had her take the morning after pills yesterday.

I figure all should be good now. We're getting married next year, and hopefully be getting a house shortly after. We have too much on our plates right now to worry about a possible preggo problem.

I'm glad to hear that this works well.

it is suppoosed to be taken the next morning and is really really effective, the fda is not taking it off the market it is just really hard to get at some hospitals, especially ones that are catholic. the next best solution is to get a hold of the local planned parent hood and they can get you the morning after pill, and if you cant get it from them they will give you a recomended dose of your current birth control to take for the next few days and that is just as effective.

for who ever doesnt know, sterilization from birtch control for woman works IN THE EXACT SAME PATH WAY that sterilization for a guy taking steroids does.

now granted, guys take more steroids than woman take pills for birth control, but, if one is safe, the other must be to.

no kids, never. i hope no one will flame me for this but i can say that i never never never ever want to have kids. nothing against them i am just to selfish.
I know i should wait till i get older and what happens if i change my mind, but i know this for sure, 100% i dont want to have kids.

i know they complete a lot of people, and it continues a legacy, and they are the only ones that you will ever love unconditionally. i honestly think that they would hold me back from things that i want to do in life. the girl i am with now, lil'taylor, agrees with me 100% and suppports my desision to get it done.

FDA fought morning-after pillBy Tony PughKNIGHT RIDDERWASHINGTON - Internal documents made public Thursday have raised new questions about the federal government's continued refusal to allow over-the-counter sales of the emergency contraceptive known as "Plan B."
The documents, obtained by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, show that in February 2004, policymakers at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found no problem in allowing the so-called morning-after pill to be sold without a prescription to women of all ages.
Yet 18 months later, former FDA Commissioner Lester Crawford cited concerns about selling the drug to younger teens as a major reason for blocking the move.
The move prompted outrage from women's rights groups and Democratic lawmakers, who claimed that the agency was blocking the measure for political reasons despite scientific evidence that showed nonprescription sales of the pill were safe.
One FDA official opposed to the decision resigned.
FDA spokeswoman Susan Bro said Thursday night that the agency was reviewing the matter and had no further comment.
Barr Laboratories, the maker of Plan B, originally sought to sell the drug over the counter to women of all ages. Only after meeting resistance from FDA officials and conservative organizations did the company opt to require prescriptions for girls 16 and under.
The FDA records indicate that the change was engineered by FDA senior officials who worked behind the scenes against the company while appearing to remain neutral.
After midlevel FDA officials recommended approving Plan B sales without prescriptions, their superiors told them that FDA Commissioner Mark McClellan and other senior managers at the agency "cannot support the nonprescription switch of Plan B," according to the agency's records.
By that time, the FDA already had begun urging Barr to seek over-the-counter sales for those 17 and older.
Barr eventually did so, but the request was tabled in August by Crawford, who claimed the move raised "difficult and novel policy and regulatory issues." The FDA hasn't yet decided the matter, and Plan B remains available by prescription only.
In a letter to acting FDA Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach released Thursday, Waxman contends that the FDA "created a regulatory 'Catch 22' to justify the predetermined political decision to block over-the-counter sales of Plan B."
"In essence, the agency was well-aware of the regulatory questions that would arise when it suggested age restrictions but simply did not resolve them in a timely manner," Waxman wrote. Waxman's office wouldn't disclose the source of the documents.
An April 2004 e-mail message from Jane Axelrad, associate director for policy at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, said that allowing over-the-counter and prescription sales of Plan B in the same package would be "consistent with precedent" and comply with "applicable statutory and regulatory provisions."
But that same month, an unidentified FDA deputy division director wrote that McClellan and senior management in Axelrad's department "do not concur" and "cannot support" such a move. They, in turn, asked the FDA's Office of Chief Counsel for a final assessment on whether the drug could be sold both with and without prescription for different age groups.
But that assessment was never made public. Daniel Troy, who was the head of the FDA's counsel office at that time and is now a law partner with Sidley Austin LLP, had no immediate comment.
Waxman wants von Eschenbach to disclose by March 27 whether the FDA's legal analysis of Plan B was ever completed.
Carol Cox, Barr's vice president of communications, wouldn't comment on the new disclosures but said, "We continue to seek approval from the FDA of Plan B as an (over-the-counter) product."

Well it's not my business to talk you out of it. I just think there are so many other forms of b/c...so why do something that will make it permanent at a young age. You never know what will happen years down the road. And if you change your mind it's too late.

i hear ya hotstuff, but all the other forms are not 100%, not even close. there is always huan error with the other forms, with the vasectomy it removes that human error. i know it is nott 100% either but it is a lot better than the other options. and it can be reversed in a certain time frame.

Hotstuff it would take a long time to list all my reasons why i dont want kids and why i know i wont change my mind, but here is the jist of it.
    1) i dont want to continue my legacy, there are some bad habits from my dads side that i wanna stop.
    2) like i said i am selfish and want to have everything to myself and my girl.
    3) i didnt have brothers or sisters or even cousins when i was younger so i am just not a kid person. i have always been around older people and was forced to grow up early.

hope you can kinda see my point of view a little and i appreciate you not jumping on my back and telling me to wait and i'll change my mind adn being like a few people i have told about this. all they do is get angry and tell me i am stupid and i will regret it.

Well, it's done. I had her take the first pill. Then the second 12 hours later, the day after we slept together. She's now pretty sick, so I figure it must have worked it's way through her system

I had to go to three pharmacies, because no-one would sell it to me. The would only sell it to my GF, and wanted her to fill out a form. But I eventually found a place that would sell me it though, without having to give out my girlfirends info. I went by myself, because my GF was too embaresed to go.

Every place I went to looked at me like I was such a jerk asking for the pill. I was so pissed off.

In my opinion, the pharmacy has no right to know who or why I am buying this medication for.
