Doctor pissed me off last night

Went into get my blood work done to get all my base lines. I waited 2 1/2 hours to see a doctor who just partnered with mine. When I gave her a list of test I wanted run she basically told me to go F**** myself. She was insisting I didn't need those tests and if I wanted them done I should go to an endo. She couldn't understand why I would want all these tests. She goes "people read things out of books and think they know everthing". Well how did you become an MD by audio classes? Why would anyone want to know their hormone levels in such detail! I asked for my file to be sent to my house and left.

She was probably wondering if she was gonna get paid. There are weird Doctors out there. Google a HRT clinic in your city. Go there. Ask a pharmacist that you go to. They know all the Doctors.

A decently smart doctor would know why you wanted the tests. She's ignorant.

It's worse for me. You guys actually have the luxury of getting offended when something like that happens. In my country, that there would be a completely normal way for a doctor to act. No way you can just waltz in and request the specific tests you want made - they'll test whatever they damn well please. Sure, you could engage in theatrics and lie about just the right horrible symptoms that will get the desired tests done, but who's got that kind of energy?

I actually nearly convinced my doctor to prescribe Deca to me. but i didnt accept obviously because i was merely 18 at the time but just to show you if your good you can get what you want.
he knew i was into bodybuilding and i told him i will eventually use AAS and I know him as a doctor is gonna tell me not to and i respect that.
but i basically layed it out like, look...i'm gonna use steroids and i can either A) buy some chemical from a stranger and inject myself with whatever he gives me. or B) you can prescribe it and we both know it'd the safer way and i'd be setting up constant appointments for bloodwork and etc. so at that point he was like, look... if you really want Deca...bwhaha im the man

Where Im from doctors would lose their license if they would do as u r suggesting. To get my bloodwork done I go to the labs straight up.. pay em and tell em whatI want to see in it.. Sorta cheap in here too...

My Dr. knows what I do that he doesn't prescribe, but he gets me the tests that I want. We just have to create a few symptoms to put on the chart so that insurance will pay for it...but he's a sports medicine specialist. Those guys seem to be a little more lenient since they deal with all levels of athletes.

I was gonna go to a clinic instead of my doc cuz I dont want him knowing yet, but then figured the clinic would put everything into the computer anyways, right? So I might as well just go see him and be done with it.. I know he will be dissappointed though.. oh well...

I have never once told my doctor or doctors once about what I was on. You would think they could figure it out. I wish I could find a doctor I felt comfortable talking to about gear.

I had this same shit happen to me. i went in to see my doctor about two weeks ago and told him i wanted a complete blood work done. He said ok. Then i told him i also wanted to get my test and estradiol levels tested too. then he said no, but then i convinced him. So in 4-5 months when i want to get my blood work done again i think hes not going to do it!!!F**k. So now i gotta find a different place to get my blood work done.

Eventually when I graduate Im gonna be faced with a dilemma.. I would like to help people with these issues BUT if I do it correctly Ill lose my license.. My point : at least in here where I live I dont blame the docs for doing what they have to do.. BUT they could be informed better about roids and their use (thats for sure).. I bet if u r lucky u can "score" a good doc who will at least give u correct info instead of the old steroids will kill u stuff..

I would also like to know the answer to these questions. Also what type of results should I be hoping for?

How much does it cost to have blood work if you do not have insurance?

Have a heart! Obviously she is not getting laid, is having a bad period or, most likely, both!

doesn't surprise me that the doctor did what she did. doctors seem to hate when clients come in telling them what needs to be done. dunno, maybe it makes the doctors realize spending 1/4 of their lives going to school for what they learned was unecessary.

most doctors are as bad as mechanics. if you have a problem, they simply treat the most likely cause and if it doesn't fix the problem, you come back and they try another. what do you think "follow up" visits are for? it's for them to see if they misdiagnosed you or not, even though they'll tell you they *know* the problem and will never admit they were wrong or misdiagnosed you.

obviously that's not the case with her saying as you just asked for bloodwork and didn't tell her of anything in particular wrong. she most likely just didn't like you coming to her with as much knowledge as you had, cause she probably doesn't have much knowledge in the field you were asking her to do work in.

what could've potentially happened is she might have thought she might not know exactly what to tell you about the results of your bloodwork and what proper levels would normally be for specific tests and you'd have to tell her, so to prevent that humiliation on her part, she figured she'd insult you first and shoot you down.

i go to clinics, which is bothersome cause most the time i go to the doctor telling them what i need and all they're there for is to write me a prescription and serve very little to no purpose for me other than that. doctors also try to prescribe certain medications based off of "bonus incentives" from certain companies, offering free vacations or other goodies to doctors who prescribe over a certain amount of medications in a specific timespan. so, if i don't tell doctors specifically what prescription i need for something, oftentimes they'll try to give me something far less effective or optimal cause it's in their best financial interest to do so.

i even asked a doctor one time why they were trying to give me one prescription over another, and after about 5 mins of them trying to lie to me about why their choice was better and them realizing i knew both drugs way too well to be bluffed, they finally said to me "well, if I give you the prescription you're asking for rather than the one i'd like to give you, i won't get be getting that free trip to cancun at the end of the year" and chuckled afterwards. well, i didn't find them toying with my health for their free trip very amusing. in conclusion, be wary of doctors and make sure you know in advance the best actions/prescriptions before speaking to them.
