Tip for those with Razor burn (face & neck).....!

Simple, yet effective.

Leave the shaving cream on your face for 5 minutes before shaving. All the hair is gonna absorb the cream and its gonna be a smooth ass shave.

I used to get razor burn but NEVER do anymore, EVER.

Here is how you should shave, you follow these steps you'll never have a problem.

Step 1

Wetting the beard

Shower first, or at least wash your face well, to
soften up your whiskers. Never shave cold! Aerosol
creams applied to a dry face do not soften the beard
and therefore make shaving much more
uncomfortable.



Step 2

Lathering up

Brush -- If possible use a shaving brush made from
badger hair. The badger hair holds water in the
brush rather than repelling it, making for a better
lather.

Shaving Cream - A glycerin base shaving cream will
help the razor glide over your skin.

Applying Shaving Cream - The best approach to
apply shaving cream is to use a circular motion
ending in an upward stroke. The upward stroke will
stands your beard up and away from your face
making the shave even closer.



Step 3

Shaving

Regardless of the type of razor chosen, always
shave down and/or across the face -- avoid shaving
up or against the grain. Since a man's beard grows
down, drawing the razor up against the grain will
only result in redness and irritation. Remember to
wash your blade under hot water often -- the cleaner
the blade, the better the results.

Stroke Directions - start with the sides, then the
mustache area, and last, the chin. The chin hairs are
the toughest, so this allows them the most time to
soften under the lather.



Step 4

Closing the pores

Once you have finished shaving, you will need to
apply a facial treatment to close your freshly opened
pores. An Alum Block will do this and eliminate any
small nicks or cuts which occurred during shaving.
Also an After Shave Balm or an After Shave will
serve to close your pores.

You guys gotta try using a straight blade. I will never ever go back to 2 or 3 blade razors again. You think they are all better but really the single blade baber shop style is the best shave you can get. Plus its so much easier to keep the blade clean (all that gunk and bullshit builds up between the blade in other razors and its disgusting, that cant be good for ur skin). I never get a single little bump while using my straight blade and I used to using a dual blade.

Your dad is amazing, what a stud. Honestly you CANNOT beat single blade man. Why do you think all the barber shops still do it? It makes you feel like a real man. Shit, a 4 year old could shave with a mach3 its so easy. You arent a man until you use a mans razor...I say borrow your dads and try shaving your balls with it just one time.

i shave in the shower, first thing i do in the shower is wash my face with oil-free acne scrub which prepares your face for a close shave, then i apply shaving cream and let it sit while i finish up everything else in the shower. by the time i am finished with everything, the shaving cream has been moisterizing my face for about 5-8 minutes and the hairs are so soft i can shave any way i want (against the grain with a dull blade even) and have a smooth-ass shave.

ROB!!! Tried that 5 Minute shaving cream maranade idea and it actually worked... ( I think ) ... Ill let u know tomorrow if i get any irritation....

A sprinkle here and a sprinkle there of Sus250 on the face always works too ... gets the face ripped up in no time.. GOODBYE WRINKLES !!! LOL

You can usually get them at most personal care stores. There is a mall by my house with a store called Personal Edge, they sell every type of shaving accessory you could think of. Usually I replace the blade every 2-3weeks. But when you put a brand new blade in and have your first shave with it...oh man its like butter.

I shave right after I get out of the steam, I bought a shaving cream heater that keeps it hot. Shave, jump in the shower, and put some tendskin on and I am good to go. Tendskin is amazing!!

hey some of these tips really worked for me...like leaving the cream on for 5mins...frequently rinsing blade in HOT water...putting on aftershave to avoid 5oclock shadow...

I couldnt find one of those straight blades for shaving just went to walmart and looked for a bit...

I think all of that is good stuff, but to close the pores, I always rinse my face with ice cold water. It seems to make the whiskers retract into my pores.
