    shin splints

    anyone else have them, seems like i cant walk more than 50 feet before i start getting horrible pains in my shins and have to take a break every few steps.

    i got them during football, they suck i know what your going through, just use the ricer method to treat them and take anti-inflammatories other than that only rest will heal them and they seem to linger around forever too..

    I got them when I started running a bunch, they suck but you can work through the pain if you treat them as above...ricer. I also used teep tissue massage, it hurt like hell but helped.

    I had shin splints when I did track. It wouldn't bother me when I ran but when I would walk around school I had a noticable limp. The shin splints went after I started stretching and squating.

    shin splints suck for sure, but they usually occur due to poor flexibility in the calfs. start stretching regularly, in the long run this will make them much better. the anti-inflammatories for now would be good aswell

    I have them as well. I see a PT for it. As Timm has stated and my PT it is in your calves and the ankle joint. I stretch and massage the shiznit out of my feet and lower legs before cardio. The liptical (sp) machines are great because there is practically no impact.
