I know its daft but if its me id have called the fire brigade and said their was a fire and people trapped inside, youd get 2 fire enginges in a few mins with 10 guys on em but i bet the cops would beat them there!!!

I know. they eved did a survey a few weeks ago and it was liek something like 90% of cops said they dont want guns and it was something like 95% of them said they want non lethal wepons.

I an American and I have several guns. What a surprise. I know everyone thinks we have a terrible problem, but with everywhere you have to know where to go and where not to go. I am 36 and have never had a gun pulled on me or known anyone to have a gun pulled on them as well. Many Americans probably have guns, but carrying them around may not be as common as you think. Now, also know there are places I am not suposed to be.
It just my crazy American opinion, but I also think if laws were changed to take our guns away, only the law abiding citizens would return them causing a worse problem as you mentioned in England. Americans also know that most of the world hates us and when any foreign country decides to invade us, at least every American who chose to will have protection.
I love building muscles too, but there is something cool about knowing I could blow somebody into little parts through a door if need be.

yeah like prime said there are certain teams (armed response) in the police force that carry guns. in rural areas there wont be an armed response unit. in city areas tehre will be but they are few and far between. i have been on many incidents with the armed respose in manchester and they tell me they are really stretched. 9 times out of 10 they get called to a job that is like 10-15 miles away.
if you ask me it aint good enough.
