    Bad for the liver?

I'm not really ready weight-wise and health-wise to start a cycle (back injury) but ive been reading a lot of this forum and once in a while i will see a comment about how certain gear is hard on your liver. i'm wondering what i should really stay away from or better yet what has the least risks to my health? seems a lot of mixed reviews and opinions.

    Seconded!

Read the profiles and you'll learn which are more harsh, but even then care can be taken to prevent problems. Just keep reading & learning.

Do you have liver problems to begin with?

If you do you might want to stand clear of the liver toxic orals.

Good point, some people can't even take Lamisil to cure nail fungus. Starting points are very important.

I had a raised liver enzyme (bilirubin) before I had ever cycled. This is one of the many reasons why I have never used Halo, Dbol, Anadrol or Winny.

If you do cycle using orals, make sure you do your research into dosages and length of cycle. I agree with the above comments on over exaggerated information and the liver does take quite a lot of abuse without permanent damage. I would take 1000mg of milk thistle and ALA during a cycle and also during PCT where your liver is breaking down clomid/nolva etc

Liver damage is very much exaggerated. Bloodwork is the only REAL way to tell if anything is affecting your liver. Don't let liver toxicity be the ONLY reason to steer you clear of an oral AAS because you could be missing out on an important and helpful part of your cycle. This is why bloodwork is recommended before, during, and after cycle to be completely sure.

How do you approach getting bloodwork done ? i mean you tell your doctor what it is for? my main doctor is older now and i think it would be a difficult task even talking to him about it. not that im scared but i would want him to co-operate and be helpful.

There was just a thread about this and there are a few ways...I'd be honest or at least half honest. You can always say that you think you may have low test levels and would like bloodwork done to check testosterone..while the bloodwork is being done request a check for liver enzymes, cholesterol, etc. etc...or you could just say you are worried about liver damage because of excessive drinking or something of the likes and you'd like bloodwork. Best way IMO would be just to ask for bloodwork..I doubt the doc really cares..after all they are there for your health/money
