tons of anything is bad. if i ate a ton of carbs that would be bad too. saturated fats are important. don't exclude them totally. they also help bring test levels up a tad.

yeah as already been said TONS of anything aren't good. But in the end i don't see any problems with saturated fat.
You possibly think saturated fat raises your cholesterol level, do you? Well actually it does not. fist of cholesterol is needed to build new cell membranes. Virtually any cell of your body is made partially of cholesterol. Moreover any cell in your body is capable of producing cholesterol but mainly the liver produces it acutally. 80% of your bodys cholersterol (at least) comes from your own cholesterol production. The rest from foods Depending on your bodys need.
So now you may ask why somebody has elevated cholesterol levels at all.. The answer is increased carb intake. Carb intake leads to an insulin spike which signals the liver to produce more cholesterol..(by stimulating HMG-CoA rductase) so actually a lot of carbs may be bad for you and not saturated fat in the first place.

Moreover saturated fat (cholesterol more precisly) is used to produce a lot of hormones testosterone is the most important one i feel (but estogen, DHEA, cortisol, aldosterone, progesterone are important too of course..).

Well I don't go overboard with saturated fats and fats in general. Most of my fats are non saturated and come from nuts, Flax oil.. The saurated comes from meats of all kinds, butter (for roasting) and eggs.

Good info on the fats there Alex. ALso dont forget for people dieting saturated fats are inportant to regular thyroid function, skimping on them will give you inhibited thyroid function and fat loss will actually be slowed.
