Well in general, dairy products, if I consume enough make me bloated and soft looking. Doesn't happen to everyone; if you don't feel bloated or have that 'soft' look, keep on chuggin.
well afaik soy milk contains phytoestrogens (just like beer does) and therefore soy milk can exert a estrogenic effect on your body. But keep in mind this is only what i read somewhere. I do not have studies to back up this statement, nor have i tried soy milk myself![]()

Soy also contains an adaptogenic phyto-nutrient that acts differently in either sex.Originally Posted by AleX-69
In males it can normalise testosterone.. in females it can normalise estrogen levels.
'Normalise' in this case= balance
I find i 'looked' harder when i ingested unsweetened soy milk daily.
Milk can cause you to 'look' soft tru two major pathwaysOriginally Posted by briansauras
One, milk is normally taken from pregnant cows (at least that's what i learned from the dairy farmer association).. As such, the milk will contain bilogically active estrogenic compounds.
Secondly, the sugar content of milk can cause one to hold water...
Barring that, some people are allergic to the lactose content... Though the allergy may not be pronounced (like upset stomach etc.).. it can manifest tru the exhibition of 'holding water'.. which in this case is due to the release of histamines in response to milk ingestion.
Not necessarily.Originally Posted by briansauras

wouldnt it better off to not normalise it and keep the balance off with testosterone in men?Originally Posted by Narkissos
more test than estrogen (in ratio at least) is a good thing, no?
T nations articles on soy and why one shouldnt consume it dont show soy in the best light
yeah, I stay clear from soy milk just to be safe, since I've read about soy reducing test levels..but if what Narkissos says is true, then I can imagine being harmless...oh well, I look at it this way; if you're on cycle, your test level is already elevated and I can't imagine soy milk exerting that much of an influence..plus it is a good alternative to milk for those who are lactose intolerant/experience water retention. And if a cycle contains gear that typically elevates BP (like dbol or anadrol), then the isoflavones in soy can help keep BP in check...just a thought
'normalise'.. i.e. increases test in men if test is 'low'.Originally Posted by stunner5000pt
If test is in the normal range it will have no effect.
Much like other adaptogenic factors (e.g. Eleutherococcus), if a specific level is in the normal range the factor has no effect.
I think you missed the point man.Originally Posted by stunner5000pt
It isn't a hormone booster in the convetional sense.
And some articles say whey is garbage... That doesn't make the statement true.Originally Posted by stunner5000pt

So Soy is a better choice then Skim???
doesnt make much of a difference what you drink aslong as you are not lactose intollerant. regular milk has better protein quality, soy has its advantages like cancer protection.Originally Posted by Machdiesel

Yea my PWO shake is a full 4 scoop servig of cytogainer, ALOT of milk so i have to take a lactaid prior inorder to stomach it, would that effect how my body obsorbs the nutrients in the shak>?
Soy is great but treat it for what it is, which is FOOD and not a dietary supplement. It can be part of a healthy diet but I would not start popping soy bean supplements.
