    Press Pause: Taking a break

Every year after 15 weeks of stringent low carb dieting and cardio up the yin yang, I take about one month off to turn my attention to other things and just recover and think about "what's next?" I'm sure a few of you do this too. Although somehow it always feels like a pensive time, I always feel that this break is necesary and healthy and a change of perspective seems like a good thing. Also, during this time, that fire in the belly definately re-kindles. It almost feels like "a tease" to avoid the gym, like I'm playing hard to get with myself and my self-oriented lifestyle.... I'm looking forward to an awesome off season and more self-absorption. It's all about me baby!

Holy shit 1 month off from the gym?

That's impossible for me unless I was injured.

    G'luck though and enjoy yourself.

month is to long for me but every now and then i take off a week to charge up the battery and hit the gym/diet harder then before. most of the time when i get back in the gym i'm stronger then before and small injury's seemed to be vanished.

I have been toying with the idea of a longer break myself. But more like 3 months or so to se if that gives me back my motivation. I would do other stuff during those 3 months offcourse. Cardio and stuff.

Just had a 2,5 week break after I hit my new bench pr and it feelt pretty good. I love the soreness the first workout after some time off.
