Cure to alot of the world's problems

    Imagine there's no Heaven
    It's easy if you try
    No hell below us
    Above us only sky
    Imagine all the people
    Living for today

    Imagine there's no countries
    It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
    Imagine all the people
    Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

    Imagine no possessions
    I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
    A brotherhood of man
    Imagine all the people
    Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Really like this song, makes you think about things going on.

a perfect circle re-did the song...a cure for the world would be for everyone to shut up and stop thinking their opinion is the one everyone should listen to.

Religion is a wonderful thing. Exploitation of religion is not. John Lennon's song, while great, is a communists dream.

If the world held hands and sung, where would the competitive spirit go? The dirve that spurs capitalism, creation, invention, etc all comes from the drive to be the best and make it for yourself. Without these things, where would humanity go with itself if not to stand still?

well the thing is in some ways the soviet union showed that great achivements can be reached without the kind of competition we are used to in the west. I am NOT a communist in anyway, I hate communism. I think its a ideology based on jelousy. "If I cant be rich no one can" mentality.

But soviet had as many gifted scientists as the west and for a long while they where ahead in space technology and other technologies. Who knows if it was faulty leadership or faulty ideology that brought the collaps of the union?

A society totaly without capitalism is shit but a society totaly without socialism is cold and heartless.

As for the song. Id like to belive we humans someday will be smart enough to cut the petty bickering and unite under one flag.

No organized religion and proper health & nutrition (amongst many other things of course) would solve many's of the world's problems. Just think about that for a minute.

people seek change. so if u take tings away and lets even say that we dont know they existed before... someone will seek change, and when they achieve it...someone will go against them. never ends.

    lol..no religion.. no politics..equals peace?

    Yea right.

Mankind is pragmatic...Weere there no differences, they'd MAKE difference

Heck do you think governments always existed?

No..man made 'em so they'd have opposition; so they'd have someone to fight against..someone to aspire to dominate

That is the dogma of mankind

    Narkissos

I think you are missing my point.

What I am saying is that soviet and america made the same kind of progress under 2 completely different systems. Showing that both system works to a extent. The fact that both had external influences that spured progress is irrelevant to that claim.

The kind of difference I am talking about is the difference betwen privat companies competing for contracts in the usa vs state own behemots handling everything in ussr.

Im simply stating that communism worked to some extent in ussr but obviously not super well otherwise it would not have collapsed.

    Capitalism > Socialism.

The reason being, and this is proven with stats, is that when people make more money, they give more money. The 80's were the "decade of greed" here in the states, yet charitable giving was at an all time high.

Socialism forces me to give up my hard earned money for the good of everyone, but what happens to slackers in socialism? The same thing that happens to welfare kings and queens here in the states, they have no motivation to work or achieve because society is carrying them along on the shoulders of the working class....bullshit!

I am leaning towards social liberalalism.
Both are needed. Unrestrained capitalism is heartless and cruel, total socialism is freedom limiting and unrealistic.

But a happy medium is what works best to ensure everyone can live a good life If a few people slack I am not overly concerned. Il rather have a few take advantage of the system then let everyone in need be kicked on the streets the moment they fall upon hard times.

I see ALOT of this BS everday, (I work at a convience store) people buying candy, snacks, juice and ice to mix in with their drinks and have the nerve to ask if they can put their "cigars" and cigs on their card WHICH IM PAYING FOR, and then leave and drive a 12-18K car.....

And then complain that they have no money...WELL NO SHIT SHERLOCK!

I seriously think they should be cut off completely and allowed to suffer till they starve to death.

But some people really do need it, just buy the essentials for themselves and families and dont abuse the system.

I would help them out but Id rather I DO IT by CHOICE and not by FORCE.

lennon was a massive dreamer, he wouldn't like the world he described,he would have no air conditioned walk in wardrobe for his fur coats, or luxury appartments around the world.
the world was like he describes about 3000years ago then someone thought fvck it im going to be better then everyone else.
