whats the long term effects of cortisone injections

my t7-t8-t9 ruptures are inoperable. the pain doctor is giving me my second set of epidural cortisone injections. my question is ....is these injections good for me in the long run or is it just masking my pain and eating away at my disks? it has reduced my pain and has taken away the spasms. the reason they are giving me for not wanting to operate is that...my ruptures are interior and they would have to go through my chest to get there.....

i dunno but they arent permanant in their effects. THey are for non active people IMO.

i am pretty much stuck with taking the injections. the doctor dont want to cut. i am taking pain meds and anti inflammatory. also, the doc wont release me back to work in my capacity. this injury happened in DEC last year, i am improving and my quality of life is getting back to almost normal. thanks for the feed back.

Good luck in this, back pain is a bitch. One of my co worker wife has theses injections has well, she got something with her shoulders, she feels quit bad after an injection but after a few days she feels a lot better and can get on with regular activites.

She been of work for 6 months now and she is getting back in December of this year if everything goes well with her.

Sad thing is that theses injections have to been done a few times a year and arent a cure.
