Sorry, but the "Protect Arizona Marriage Amendment" thing did not pass.
Evidently, folks in Arizona are not as opposed to gay marriage as folks in other states.

    Wrong Tock

The opposition to the Ban Gay Marriage run a very effective disinformation campaign, and the supporters of the bill did not do much in terms of TV ads. The TV ads protrayed the Amendment as taking away seniors social security who just lived together and were not married. They also indicated domestic partners would lose rights...which is wrong, and a lie. A similar measure was on the ballot 2 years ago and it passed with over 80% voting for it.

It was a small victory for them yesterday, but I guarantee the backlash has already started. The measure will be on the ballot again in 2 years and the campaign for it will be long and brutal. People can be fooled, especially old folks who are afraid of losing income, but once they realilze they have been duped they tend to become very angry. See ya in two years.

got ya. listen i can understand if you dont believe in it, but does that mean you should prevent them from doing it? it doesnt affect any single person other then that particular gay couple. if you are deeply religious then you shouldnt marry a man, dont push your beliefs on others. i understand your point on why you wouldnt want your tax dolllars going to stem celll research but this isnt a tax dollar issue, its an individual decision and core republican beliefs which i believe in say that less govt intervention is better.

Isnt this more or less a unspoken rule over there? Swede has no official language either but I have never seen that as a problem

You do see it more in the southern U.S. but Michigan also has a very large arab population and many refuse to learn english. I cant remember where the guy was but he put a sign up outside his restaraunt. You must order in English...funny, if you cant speak it, how would you read the sign..

I live in the Midwest, and every day I see more and more things posted in English and Spanish. "Please press 1 for Spanish, 2 for English" This shit is getting old.

Yes Arizona borders Mexico. Whats the point? The US WAS a melting pot...legal immigrants came to this country, German, Swedes, Norweigian, Polish, Italian, etc...and adopted English as their new language. They "assimilated" into the society, and became successful citizens.

Now thanks to the well intended, but misguided left, the US is more like a tossed salad not a melting pot. The "new immigrants" Arab, Russian, Mexican, South American, refuse to adopt English as their language. This burdens our school systems and government agencies by needing tax dollars to employ multi-lingual workers to serve those who do not want to assimilate. This is not good for the US, and has not been good for France, Britian, etc...So now the people are fed up...saying you come here to live, better adapt to our ways, cause we're done adapting to yours. Not stupid at all...

Well I totaly agree with the bold part and what is stupid is that its even a issue, i,e that people are so daft that they dont learn the language in the country the live, I think its stupid that english has to be legaly made the official language because it should be so obvious it is already.

Logan said it best, it's to the point where we are writing new laws to enforce the old ones....pathetic.

This happened in phila. at a cheesesteak spot. There was a sign saying the same thing, "You must order in English and speak slowly."

As far as the other topics go, i said it before and i'll say it again
