Well, today I got to the dock and fired up my boat, and started talkin with the other guys on the warf. turns out, the company is doin some layoffs come the new year. from what I hear, we are shutting down a few areas we work in, due to land lease issues or soemthing, and this means less jobs.
Ive been here 3 years, and do the work most guys either cant do, or just plain wont do... Now we have hired alot of green horns who havent got a clue, some have never seen the ocean before and most are about 18-20 years old. I would naturally assume they would be first, but Ive been here 3 years, many of these guys have been here for 10-20 years...
I dont know what if Im making too much of this, but its not in my nature to take it easy over this sort of thing, Ive been a wreck all day and bitch as hell. I guess it is possible I could be kept, I mean, I am probably the hardest working guy on the coats, well, with my company anyway, and Im legally certified to operate the boats and machinery that we use... But this is a scary time none the less...
just felt like venting this out, I havent got much of an outlet right now, and if I keep this bottled up Im sure it would be much worse than it is now.
thanks
