David Duke (former leader of the KKK) attends Iran Holocaust conference, you guys should be so proud......

Iran defiant as anger mounts over Holocaust forum

Iran has pressed on with a controversial Holocaust conference as international outrage mounted over its hosting of "revisionist" historians who cast doubt on the mass slaughter of Jews in World War II.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday slammed the conference as "shocking beyond belief", a sentiment echoed by his Israeli counterpart Ehud Olmert and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

A host of Western "revisionists" who doubt the slaughter of six million Jews in World War II took place, including a former Ku Klux Klan leader and a Frenchman given a suspended jail term in October, have taken part.

Iran said that the aim of the conference was to find answers to questions about the Holocaust from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has described it as a "myth" and cast doubt on the scale of the slaughter.

Papers delivered Tuesday by participants from countries ranging from Austria to Indonesia included "A Challenge to the Official Holocaust Story", and "Holocaust, the Achilles Heel of a Primordial Jewish Trojan".

"I think it is such a symbol of sectarianism and hatred towards people of another religion, I find it just unbelievable," said Blair. "I found that this conference that they had questioning the Holocaust is shocking beyond belief.

"If you're going to invite the former head of the Ku Klux Klan to a conference in Tehran which disputes the millions of people who died in the Holocaust, then what further evidence do you need to have that this regime is extreme?" said Blair.

Olmert led a chorus of angry condemnation from the Jewish state over the two-day meeting which started on Monday.

"The conference in Iran was sickening and shows the depths of the hatred," Olmert said, calling on the world "to disassociate itself from Iran and all the participants of the conference".

German Chancellor Angela Merkel condemned "in the strongest terms" dismissals of the Holocaust by the "revisionist" historians. In its reaction to the conference, the Vatican described the Holocaust as an "appalling tragedy to which one cannot remain indifferent."

Some of the most notorious Western figures who have downplayed the scale of the Holocaust have been attending the event, including French professor Robert Faurisson and German-born Australian Fredrick Toeben.

The conference wrapped up in the early afternoon and all of the participants, who have showered the Iranian president with praise throughout the meeting, were bussed away for a private meeting with Ahmadinejad.

In Tehran, an assistant of Toeben, who maintains the existence of gas chambers is an "outright lie", tried to show his claim using a model of the Treblinka extermination camp the researcher had brought to the conference.

"There is no scientific proof to show that this place was an extermination camp. All that exists are the words of some people," said Richard Krege.

He claimed that only 5,000 people died in the camp, of disease. Most historians believe that at least 800,000 prisoners were murdered in the camp.

The conference is the latest brush with controversy for the Islamic republic, which is already facing UN sanctions for failing to agree to halt sensitive nuclear work.

Historians specialising in the Third Reich, basing their figures on original Nazi documents, generally believe around six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust, although some estimates are slightly lower or higher. Hitler's regime also killed millions of non-Jews.

It is a crime to deny the Holocaust in a dozen European countries, including Germany and Austria.

Mainstream scholars of the Holocaust meanwhile held a counter gathering in Berlin on Monday to condemn the conference, entitled "Study of the Holocaust: A Global Perspective".

US academic Raul Hilberg, the author of "Destruction of the European Jews", which is widely considered one of the standard texts on the Holocaust, said he wanted to make "a statement" by attending the Berlin conference.

The European Jewish Congress "condemned in the strongest terms" the "negationist and revisionist" conference in Iran attended by Western figures it described as "pseudo-historians and intellectuals".

KKK's David Duke Tells Iran Holocaust Conference That Gas Chambers Not Used To Kill Jews
    12/12/06
    foxnews
TEHRAN, Iran — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's conference questioning the Holocaust came to an end Tuesday, but not before hearing former KKK Imperial Wizard David Duke say that gas chambers were not used to kill Jews.

"The Zionists have used the Holocaust as a weapon to deny the rights of the Palestinians and cover up the crimes of Israel," Duke told a gathering of nearly 70 "researchers" in Tehran at Ahmadinejad's invitation.

"This conference has an incredible impact on Holocaust studies all over the world," said Duke, a former state representative in Louisiana who twice ran for president.

"The Holocaust is the device used as the pillar of Zionist imperialism, Zionist aggression, Zionist terror and Zionist murder," Duke told The Associated Press.

Also at the end of the conference, Mohammad Ali Ramini, an Ahmadinejad adviser who has called the Holocaust a "myth," announced that he will chair a committee to find "the truth on the genocide of Jews."

Other members of the committee will be Robert Fuerisson, a French professor who denies the existence of gas chambers, along with Holocaust deniers from Syria, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, the United States and Bahrain.

Tuesday's speeches included Ali Akbar Mohtashamipour, a former interior minister and one of the founders of Lebanese militia Hezbollah, who labeled the Holocaust as a "tale."

"All the studies and research carried out so far have proven that there is no reason to believe that the Holocaust ever occurred and that it is only a tale," he stated.

Austrian historian Wolfgang Froehlich, who served a two-year jail sentence in his home country for denying the Holocaust, did not read out his speech — which was handed out to participants — for fear of being jailed again. Denying the Holocaust is a crime in a dozen European countries, including Austria, where British historian David Irving was jailed in February for three years for denying the Holocaust.

Nabil Soleiman, an adviser to the ministry of religious affairs in Syria, said, "If the Holocaust ever occurred, it was a conspiracy against the Arab-Islamic world as today the Middle East is still paying the consequences."

Ahmadinejad opened Tuesday's session by thanking God that the Zionist regime was declining, telling conference participants, “its lifetime will be over and their interests as well as reputation will be endangered,” the Islamic Republican News Agency reported.

International condemnation continued to pour in against the government-sponsored conference in Tehran, which has drawn Holocaust deniers from around the world.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said it was "shocking beyond belief" and called the conference "a symbol of sectarianism and hatred."

He said he saw little hope of engaging Iran in constructive action in the Middle East, saying, "I look around the region at the moment, and everything Iran is doing is negative."

The United States, which also condemned the gathering, has been considering whether to open a dialogue with Iran to get its help in calming neighboring Iraq. President George W. Bush has so far refused to approach Iran, accusing it of backing terrorism.

The White House condemned the gathering of Holocaust deniers in Tehran as "an affront to the entire civilized world as well as to the traditional Iranian values of tolerance and respect."

A statement from press secretary Tony Snow noted the meeting coincided with International Human Rights Week, which renews the pledges of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights drafted in the wake of World War II atrocities.

"The Iranian regime perversely seeks to call the historical fact of those atrocities into question and provide a platform for hatred," Snow said.

Earlier this year, Ahmadinejad described the Holocaust as a "myth" that has been used to impose the state of Israel on the Arab world and called for Israel to be wiped off the map.

"Ahmadinejad's Holocaust comment opened a new window in international relations on this issue. Twenty years ago, it was not possible to talk about [the] Holocaust and any scientific study was subject to punishment. This taboo has been broken, thanks to Mr. Ahmadinejad's initiative," Georges Theil of France told conference delegates on Tuesday.

Theil was convicted earlier this year in France for "contesting the truth of crimes against humanity" after he said the Nazis never used poison gas against Jews.

Michele Renouf, an Australian socialite supporter of "Holocaust skeptics," called Ahmadinejad "a hero" for opening a debate about the Holocaust. Renouf, a blonde former beauty queen, addressed the audience wearing a green robe and Islamic headscarf, abiding by Iranian law requiring women to cover their hair.

Frederick Toben, an Australian who in 1999 served jail time in Germany for his Holocaust views, told the conference in no uncertain terms that the number of Jews killed in Nazi death camps — an estimated 6 million — is a myth.

''The number of victims at the Auschwitz concentration camp could be about 2,007,'' Toben said. ''The railroad to the camp did not have enough capacity to transfer large numbers of Jews."

Among the 67 participants from 30 countries, who included some of Europe's most prominent Holocaust deniers, were two rabbis and four other members of the fringe group Jews United Against Zionism.

They were dressed in the traditional long black coats and black hats of ultra-Orthodox Jews. The group says the creation of the state of Israel violates Jewish law and argues that the Holocaust should not be used to justify its founding.

I have seen the list of notable guests at the conference, the gathering of lunatic nutjobs is as pretty much what I would expect.

Perhaps David Duke and Ahmenajad can discuss exterminating Jews and Blacks while they share a romantic bubble bath.

Gas chambers are arranged like shower rooms, with the difference that the deadly gas comes from the shower-head. As soon as the operation is complete, large ventilators are put into notion, the dead are carried out on the other side to the crematorium, and a new batch is ready for the "bath", The process is quite rapid, since with practice one has been able to achieve perfection.

David Duke said nothing about 'gas chambers' not being used in the so-called 'holocaust', here is what he did talk about:

    http://www.davidduke.com/?p=1532#more-1532

Duke says: "I take no hard position on the historical accuracy of the Holocaust, I leave that to those whose whole lives are devoted to the study of the issue, but I take an unshakeable position on freedom."

Seems pretty reasonable to me. But hey, take the word of former AIPAC members (Blitzer for instance) and heed only to your Zionist news sources; I just happend to link to his entire speech and it mentions nothing of the sort which has been alleged so far.

By the way Blitzer was convicted for financial fraud in the 70s and his real name is Larry Ziegler. He also wrote for the Jerusalem Post under a pseudonym, I can't recall what it was now.

To his credit Duke handles these braying jackasses very well, refusing to be bullied and making some good points. Frankly I have been surprised and impressed. He does not pretend to be an expert at revisionism but stresses the free speech point - a winner - and brushes off the Klan smears as something in the distant past.

    Get your facts straight.

Wait a moment. Where the heck did you learn this? Not even Holocaust hardcore fantatics believe in what you just described!

This is just hilarious. One would think that if you believed in the story you would at least have some basic knowledge as to what is alleged!

    Incredible.

    I'm confussed...

This is just how I have heard as the process was undertaken.

If you have any valid sources that back up your position, please post a link.

Then you are a misinformed believer in this 'gassing' process too, it seems. The Zyklon B pellets were allegedly lowered from holes in the roof of the Crema II and III - this is known in holocaust believer circles as 'Zyklon Introduction Columns' or 'Zyklon B Wire Mesh Columns'.

Valid sources? THIS is what the allegation is. I don't need any sources for this. This is the allegation of the Holocaust story in plain view.

If you would like to be reassured you could search google for 'Zyklon Introduction Columns' or 'Zyklon B Wire Mesh Columns' to learn more about what you believe in.

    Thank you.

Strange, I saw the interview as him dancing around his views.

You must find it strange with his links to the Klan, even in his past, that he appears at such an event, and claims to mealy be their in his support of free speech.

I'll wager there more serious violations of free speech for Mr. Duke to rally against….

Perhaps in support for free speech in the very city he was speaking from, Tehran.

Maybe he could have pleaded his strong love of the freedom of speech to Ahmadinejad, as he was shaking his hand, and pleaded for the release of Reza Abbasi.

IRAN Reza Abbasi (m), human rights defender

Human rights defender Reza Abbasi was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment in
mid-October: six months for "insulting the Leader of the Islamic Republic of
Iran" and another six months for "propaganda against the system". He has been
held in Zenjan Central Prison since his arrest in June, and has spent at least
two months in solitary confinement. The Zenjan office of the Ministry of
Intelligence has reportedly been harassing Reza Abbasi’s family: this has
included repeatedly summoning his elderly parents for interrogation and
ordering them not to tell anyone about their son’s situation.

Amnesty International believes Reza Abbasi is a prisoner of conscience, held
solely on account of his peaceful activities on behalf of the Iranian
    Azerbaijani community in Iran.

Dr Roya Toloui, a founding member of the Association of Kurdish Women for the Defence of Peace and Human Rights and the editor of the cultural magazine Rassan, was arrested at her home in Sanandaj on 2 August 2005. She was not allowed to see her family or lawyer for several weeks. She was released on bail in October 2005. In January 2006 she stated: "In total they brought [at least 10] charges against me. Anything not considered a crime against others was a crime when it came to me, for example the publication of my book in the Kurdish language in Iraq's [Al-Sulaymaniyah] was considered a crime. There were other charges, the most important of which is acting against national security, and also giving interviews to different foreign radio stations was considered propagating lies against the establishment."(17) She had been interrogated several times during the months preceding her arrest.(18)
    • Ajlal Qavami, a journalist with the weekly Payam-e mardom-e Kurdestan and a member of the editorial board of the journal Payam-e Mardom (People’s Message) and Sa’id Sa’edi. a freelance journalist who also works for the weekly newspaper Asou, was also arrested on 2 August 2005. Ajlal Qavami reportedly carried out a hunger strike against his detention. Both were also released on bail in October 2005 and were also reported to be facing vaguely worded charges which can carry the death penalty.
    • Madeh Ahmadi, a journalist, was arrested on 28 July 2005 in the Sarvabad border area after visiting the Kurdish part of neighbouring Iraq and detained for four months in Marivan prison, reportedly in connection with various charges including illegally leaving the country. He conducted a hunger strike in September 2005, in protest against his detention. In November 2005, when the authorities failed to implement his court-ordered release on bail, he reportedly went on hunger strike again and sewed his mouth up in protest. He was released on 28 November 2005 and reported that he was facing 29 charges including "threatening national security, doing interviews with foreign media, and contact with the opposition". In January 2006 it was reported that he had recently been sentenced to one year’s imprisonment and 50 lashes after conviction of the charge of entering and leaving the country illegally.
    • Borhan Divargar, a trade union activist and children’s rights defender was detained for about six weeks during which he was reportedly beaten before he too was released on bail facing charges reportedly including membership of the Committee to Follow up the Establishment of Free Labour Organisations, membership of the newly-formed Unemployed Workers’ Organisation, managing a labour website in Iran called Tashakol (www.tashakol.com), and with participating in the demonstrations in Saqez. By November 2005 reports indicated that his lawyer had still not been allowed to see his file and in December 2005 he was said to have been among 51 Kurds on trial before Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Saqez in connection with the summer events, of whom four were still in detention.
    • Mohammad Sadeq Kabudvand, the editor of Payam-e mardom-e Kurdestan, a weekly published in Kurdish and Farsi and Chair of the Kurdish Human Rights Organization (RMMK) based in Tehran was detained briefly in August 2005 during the summer events. He was later sentenced by the Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj to one year in prison for "spreading lies with the intention of upsetting public opinion" and to six months’ imprisonment and was banned from working as a journalist for five years for "disseminating tribal issues and publishing provocative articles". Both prison sentences were suspended by the court. His newspaper was also closed down by the authorities.
No, I don’t believe for a second that freedom of speech is Mr. Duke's reason for attending the conference.

I know see that you were mealy disputing the introduction method.

Why would I find it strange? Do you find it strange that former communists and operators of the Gulag camps have NEVER been brought to court (or justice) and that nobody brings up the past of these people whenever they are interviewed? I don't think it is strange at all knowing what I know!

I don't know the exact circumstances of why Abbasi has been arrested except for the information published on American websites and organizations. I have however contacted people to ask for more information regarding this.

By the way I am sure that I can find examples of people having been arrested in America for their views or for publishing various taboo subjects. Heck, some have even been deported for doing so! And this is the champion of Democracy & Freedom.

Americans really should learn one or two things about their own corrupted system before they criticize other countries systems and ways. But that is too much to ask.

Okay. So do you think David Duke wishes that people such as Germar Rudolf should be in prison for publishing scientific research? Hmm.

Ahhh! OK. So you don't believe in the laughable method described by Joey2ness? Many Veterans and Survivors has repeated this absurd notion and that is incidentally why people like Joey2ness repeats it on forums such as this one.

    [edit]

Why are you of the belief that I am not a person disputing the claims of 'gas chambers' or the alleged use of such things? Have I ever stated that I have a belief in such things, ever? I don't think I have done that.

I thought you would doubt Abbasi’s arrest, how about the 5 other people that I posted a link to.

    Or this story
    http://today.reuters.com/news/articl...src=rss&rpc=22
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's internet service providers (ISPs) have started reducing the speed of Internet access to homes and cafes based on new government-imposed limits, a move critics said appeared to be part of a clampdown on the media.
An official said last week that ISPs were now "forbidden" by the Telecommunications Ministry from providing Internet connections faster than 128 kilobytes per second (KBps), the official IRNA news agency reported. He did not give a reason.
Internet technicians say speeds of 256 KBps, 512 KBps or higher are increasingly common internationally. Iranian surfers will now find it much slower to download music or anything else from the Web. Businesses have not been affected by the move.
Critics said the restriction would hinder the work of students and researchers but said it appeared in line with what they see as a squeeze on the media by the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who rails against the West.
"Once more, one of the most important tools for providing information is faced with new government red lines and restrictions," the opposition reform-minded daily, Etemad-e Melli, wrote in an article on the new speed limitation.
The authorities have shutdown the leading pro-reform newspaper and launched a crackdown on those flouting a ban on satellite dishes. Critics say the authorities have put increasing pressure on opposition journalists, academics and students.
The government denies the charges, saying it welcomes criticism.
An Iranian Internet engineer, who asked not to be identified, said his firm had this week started reducing speeds provided to homes and Internet cafes, but not businesses.
The Telecommunications Ministry official said the order would stay in place until "new regulations for providing ADSL (high-speed Internet) services" were issued, IRNA reported.
It was not clear if this meant the restrictions were only temporary, but another ISP official said he expected the restriction to stay in place.
He said his firm had yet to be officially informed of the new order but was starting to impose the limitations on customers anyway "because we are not looking for problems".
Iran blocks some Web sites, including the BBC Persian-language site, which Iran says has an "anti-Iranian tendency". Satellite dishes are banned because officials say they bring "corrupt" Western values into Iranian homes.

Of course not, Mr. Rudolf and Mr. Duke share the same views. In addition I don’t believe that a person should be put in jail for denial of the Holocaust.

    Thank you.
Funny how you seem to be an expert on the subject.....................

What do you mean by that? I learned this from visiting various holocaust websites and this is now what some books are trying to teach also.

The holocaust is, as you probably know, a ever changing story - it is almost like the next level of Super Mario, always different.

I am not an expert for knowing what the holocaust story is. I just happen to have the capabilities of learning what I read--so compared to some people I might be an expert after all.

He is dangerous not only because of his ideals but also because he is well spoken. It is time for this chapter of US history that Duke represents to come to an end.
