Wellp ive decided i want to go into the medical field, I have 26 hours under my belt and unfortunately I did not try and my GPA shows for it, I need to know if I step my grades up and get A's and B's from now if I have a chance

College Algebra D+(professor problems) then retook and got B
Gen Chem 1 and 2 C+ , C-
Psychology B
Sociology B-
Humanities B
Governemtn B+
Gen Chem Lab 1 & 2 A+, B+ My current gpa is around 2.6

Let me tell you, if you want it bad enough, anything is possible

Score well on your DAT and show them you want it bad enough and your GPA shouldn't get in the way

Whatever university your at should have a smaller "college" within it that most of their medical majors are in and taking their classes. Get in it and get in it as soon as possible.

Also, start studying for your DAT, review like mad and score well. That will be your saving grace if your GPA is lower like I stated above. Good luck man!

One major decision I made was that I will sacrific work/money at this point of my life in order to study a few extra hours to get that A.
Last semester I worked 2 days a week and my lowest grade was a B.
It sucks being broke, but I'm investing in my future and that overides any petty $250 a week pay check I would get now because in the future that $250 will be a couple hours of my time and not a whole week.

It all comes down to time and how you use it.

If you only have 26 hours, you still have time to bring your GPA up. Focus heavy on math/sciences.

you need to retake chem 1 and 2 if you dont you dont have a shot in hell. all your core science classes are what med schools really look at they look less at gen ed requirments. I do Mcat prep at my school, but I dont want to be a MD, 100 hours a week isnt for me

Missionary work would look awesome to medschools

med schools will look at your grades first but will take your extracurricular activities into consideration as well as your life history. What life experiences you have under you belt. You need to ACE your MCAT, if you ace that they will look beyond your gpa. You should try and volunteer at a hospital/nursing home etc. or even better would be to get a job as an orderly at a hospital.
Be prepared to put your life on hold for at least 5 years as a GP 7 years if you want to specialize. After that you will at least be making good money for not having a life.
