Personally, I get a bad cold at least 2 times out of the year and I feel the same way. I usually continue to workout and if my cold starts to get worse, ill take a few days off. Remember, when your sick make sure you get plenty of sleep and drink lots of fluids. I usually also up my vitiman C to about 3-4 grams a day. I would also stay away from cardio till the cough clears up. But you know your own body.

I usually take one or two days off and am able to return and lift at a decent intensity. If you go in when you first get sick you wont be able to lift intense enough to make the lift really matter. Better off resting up and returning when you feel better. I do never wait until I am totally over it, but rather go back in once I feel better which is a day or two. Many years ago I used to try and lift through being sick. One day I felt a bit run down and went in and trained legs doing heavy squats. By the time I got home I had a fever over 100 degrees and was sick as a dog. Other times I would end up with a cold that would last a month long because I never gave my body enough rest. Now I dont have those problems.

Personally I would let your body heal first.

Yea, it's not the worst thing in the world to take a few days off. You might stay sick longer if you don't rest up. LOTS OF GATORADE!
