    I'll tell you one way it can happen...

    The wifey did laundry one day and the dryer is in the basement. It's an electric dryer and fairly new too.

    What happened is the timer got stuck and the damn thing ran for 2 days straight before I went down to the basement and realized the dryer seemed to have been going for some time...I asked her if she was doing laundy and she said no, not for a couple days.

    Well, needless to say, when we got our next electric bill, I was not at all pleased.

    mine is about 180 or so a month for a 3 bedroom appment down in tx.but i also live with two other girls that always leave lights on

    mine never hits a 100 summer or winter and i thought i was paying to much
    but my water bill every month is 60-70

    hah yeah your electric bill goes up during the winter cause the heat is kicking on and off all night... here at the house we now have the hot water turned off at night lol

    Damn, I own a tanning salon and even in peak season with the ac and all the beds running pretty much non stop, it's not that much.

    mine's about 50$ a month year round, i always turn my hot water heater off until i need it, it only takes about 5 min to heat it up and definitely saves quite a bit.

    Yes its a combination of A/C, there are three running pretty much 24 hours a day and the fact that I live in a house, they tarrif the electricity real high for houses here. I have paid as much as $1000 per month. Its farking ridiculous.
