Thread: transferring amps/jugs to vials?

  1. #1

    Talking transferring amps/jugs to vials?

What is the appropriate procedure for transferring amps or a small jug into vials? Can you just take the stopper off of the vial, pour in the liquid and put the stopper back on or does it need to be transferred by needles?

Also, what would a 100ml "jug" look like? It's sterile right? Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about.

LOL im thinking a milk jug that would be nice. it is just a 100ml vial bro it is juglike if you will. if they are removable stoppers then yes pou the amps into it but my guees is that the jug is a 100ml vial in that case the safest way to do it is to refilter it into smaller vials. filtering not neccesary but a good idea if safety is of concern.

Why not just leve it in the amp's. If you trr to transfer it your going to have to filter.

I believe the jug is a large vial with a flip-top lid. I'm not sure what that means, I can't just open the lid, draw liquid, and close the lid right? That doesn't seem right.

Also, I would want to transfer the amps to a vial because I would want 75mg ED and the amps are 50mg. So I would need 1.5 amps everyday, leaving .5ml in the syringe after injecting. Even though I would change the needle, wouldn't the liquid in the syringe become unsterilized since I aspirated and then it sat in the syringe for another 24 hours? (Hopefully you can follow that).

I know nothing about filtering so I'll have to look that up.

No you best bet will be to store it in teh syringe. Just open 3 amps and draw .5 and 1.0 in each syringe. Shoot the one you need and store the other. You can leve the same needle on the syringe that you store. Just chang it right before you shoot.

Ahh, that would be much smarter.

Last question: what would I need to do with a 20ml vial with a flip-top lid? Would that need to be transferred to a vial with a stopper?

What you have is a sealed steril 20ml vial. The flip top lid it the cap that you would remove so you can get to the rubber stoper. This vial does not open in any way. Other then if you cut off the top.

They both crimped to the top of the vile to hold the stopper in place.
