Any idea of where it could have happened?
when I call tomorrow I guess Ill know for sure
I mean where your number could have been taken?
the point is I dont even know where its from the statement says 1300.00 (payment) thats all. not anything else
That sucks dude.. let us know how it goes
ya I will man. If this happned to anyone post what what u did and what happend
man that would piss me off too. work hard for ur money so somebody else can just take it from u. my parents had somebody spend 12,000 on their cc in hawaii. luckily they caught the sick fvck. i think most major cc companies are pretty good about investigating it and not making u pay for it.
they get back the money?
yea they got it all back pretty much immediately.
oh man , i had the wrost time when this happend to me ecept i had a 6,700$ bill .to my susprize i bought a 50' plasma tv plus surround sound!!lol..it took me about 2 month to clear everything up with them !!
i wish you luck man !
yeah they will give your money back the same day if you claim fraud
i joined this credit reporting service online and signed up for a free trial. before the free trial part was over i cancelled the service. then for a few months after they charged my bank card. when i finanllly noticed it, i called the bank and they gave me a refund immediately pending an investigation, then like a month later they sent a letter telling me that i could keep the refund b/c their investigation was complete, and they had found in my favor.

do they send you a new credit card if its fraud?
OH yeah, i forgot ! they also force you to diable the current numbber and then send you a new one, which sucked b/c it was also my debit card. so i had to go into bank and get temp debit card. they would not allow me to keep the same numbers.Originally Posted by Lexed
Lately, ppl are getting numbers from food businesses. They write down the numbers. usually the managers are in with it, for a cut. wf had something similar happened, but it was at a hotel. scam was between the check in clerk, manager, and a person staying there. The would charge an extra room charge, on her account, then let the other person use the receipt as a business expense, and his company would reimburse him. When my wife called and questioned it, the manager wasn't very cooperative. Even wanted my wf to give him her ss# and card# so he could check to see what was wrong. She asked him if he was ****ing crazy. She got things staight. She even called corporate office to file a formal complaint. Room charge raised from 150 a night to 1800 the fourth night. Credit card was charge back with correct amount.
That happened to someone I know, her cc got stolen and they were able to withdraw cash from the cc through the ATM, bank didn't refund anything.
that is different, b/c they would have to know the pin to get money from ATM, so it is not protected by visa or mastercard rules. so in that situation your friend has a higher level of resposibility becase she eaither had a really easy pin, or she let someone else know it. in that case it is up to the bank whether to refund or not.Originally Posted by locofoco
but if you claim fraud on visa or mastercard, when a pin number was NOT used, then the bank must refund the money pending investigation.
^^ those are the rules where i live, may be different in other places.
