I have been searching the board for information and I have been looking into a first cycle. Probably just a single compound like Test E. My question is about dutastride. I am not prone to MPB, but I want to take every precaution I can. Is dutastride something I should take? Is dutastride effective against certain aas or all of them? Or am I just paranoid and I shouldn't worry about losing my hair. What do you all think?

take it, .25mg ed. It will keep your prostate from getting huge too.

listen to kratos. hes a fountain of knowledge.. helped me out several times...hes on point....you cud even use nizoral shampoo to cover all contingencies shud paranoia arise...

I wouldnt use it; i would opt for nizoral or even a step above and use topical spironolactone...but first try to find out if you are in fact prone or not...dutasteride can really create a bad muscle environment

^^^I would agree, if you say you're not prone then no sense in taking it. Use the Niz just in case as its sides are mild.

Taking dutasteride will have little effect on the anabolic environment. Skeletal muscle is unique from other androgen dependent tissues in the body. It actually contains little or no 5-AR, so little or no DHT is actually formed in the muscle. In addition to this, any DHT that is formed, or that is already present in the blood and travels to the muscle, is quickly deactivated by an enzyme called 3alpha-hydroxysteroid reductase.

^^while it doesnt effect anabolism it certainly will affect strength....that in turn could easily halter progress in some people

If you do decide to go the dutasteride route be sure to take something to control estrogen durring cycle. I love my hair.

I would keep some dutasteride on hand just in case. You may need it. But to start I would recommend nizerol shampoo.

Thanks for all the advise. I will give the nizoral a try and save the dutastride for later.

i take it at 2.5mg a day....
