Well gang, I'm getting better.
I fired my first endocrinologist as he let my TSH get to 95! Yes I said ninety-five. I am now on 188mcg of Synthroid and 10mcg of cytomel. My last TSH was 10, which is MUCH better. I'd like to get it as low as 2 or 3 just to get my metabolism kicking back in!
I came clean about my vitamin supplement history over the past four years. He was glad to hear me admit it as he thought I was in too good of shape for someone my age, so he was no surprised. He did not lecture me rather, shook his head in agreement when I said that I felt better, looked better, and was mentally, more sharp.
My testosterone levels came back low, I believe in the low 200's range, he has decided to put me on HRT. I was given the choice of a patch, a cream, or an injectable, I chose the Injectable. He agreed. The cream is such a subjective dosage, the patch will require me to shave and many people have skin irritation, so I said, I am experienced with the require, so I'll go that route.
I don't have the script in my hand as it's in the pharmacy being ordered and prepared, but he has put me on Cyponate. I can be wrong but either I am to do 200mg once a week for four weeks, then drop it to 100mg for four weeks, then more bloodwork.
1. Will that do much for me? I am sure it will do some good, just don't expect to make muscle gains as fast as I did with the shorter, higher dose of my vitamin cycles.
2. Is this consistent with what most guys get for HRT?
3. I mentioned I wanted to start a cycle of my special vitamins soon, but he advised me to wait until the labs come back in and our next appointment which is in October.
4. My IGF-1 came in at 235, which is on the high side of normal, however, my endocrinologist wants to keep an eye on the averages and wants me to have my IGF-1 checked in a month, then a second month, and then see what the average actually is.
5. I have a six month supply of GH, but again, I will wait until I get the 'all clear' from the endocrinologist.
So, all in all, I really liked this endo. He listened and didn't lecture me. He assured me that our conversation was completely off the record and he would not put any information regarding HRT and my vitamin supplements.
And finally,
I began using a CPAP machine at night to help with my sleeping issues. I don't notice much yet, but I guess it takes time.
