I have been away for a while and I've been reading about the anti E exemestane. Now it says that emestane is an irreversible, steroidal aromatase inactivator. What do they mean by irreversible? Does this mean it will permanently bind to the aromatase enzyme or forever stop the conversion of estrogens. If this is so wouldn't it be unhealthy? Snice you want all your hormones/enzymes to return to their natural state/balance after a cycle?

Your body makes more enzyme in time, but that particular molecule of aromatase enzyme is destroyed. You arn't born with all the enzyme you will ever have.

Irreversible means that the aromatase that it deactivates AT THAT TIME is permanently deactivated. Your body produces more aromatase, however. THe benefit of this feature of exemestane is that you will not get estrogen rebound if you suddenly stop administering the drug.

In comparison, Letro and Arimidex are NOT irreversible AIs, and if you discontinue them suddenly, the aromatase that they deactivated will then become active again and you will get estrogen rebound.

Well, it makes sense if the estrogen rebounds to where it was before, but if it rebounds to even higher than before, what would explain that? Sure the aromatase is free to convert test into estro again, but where would the even higher than usual estrogen be coming from??

Your body makes more enzyme to make up for the enzyme that is being bound up, so once the AI wears off you have more working aromatase than ever. That's why suicidal is better.
